5 Eyewitness Examples Proving Tea Parties Not Racist
American Thinker ^ | 07/16/2010 | Lloyd Marcus

Posted on 07/16/2010 7:40:17 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

I'm black tea party patriot Lloyd Marcus. I have attended over 200 tea parties nationwide as a spokesperson and performing my "American Tea Party Anthem" on the Tea Party Express.

Incredibly, liberal radio interviewers and their callers and liberal TV interviewers who have not attended a single tea party have vigorously confronted me with accusations of unabated racism in the tea parties. Their beliefs and impression of the tea parties are based on undocumented lies and hearsay shamelessly reported by the liberal mainstream media as fact. Apparently the Obama administration and his media minions are counting on the old adage being true, "Tell a lie long enough and it becomes true."

Well folks, I was there, live, in person, at over 200 tea parties; experiencing the mood and tone of the events and the types of people who attend them. Tea Party attendees are a broad mix of people, granted mostly white, who disagree with Obama's socialist agenda, not his skin color.

Accusers attack, "Why are blacks not attending the tea parties?" During my tea party travels, I have not encountered a single white security guard at rally entrances with orders to "Keep blacks out". Thus, I can only conclude most of my fellow blacks are either frightened to come out of the closet to oppose socialism and express love for their country or they are socialist or racist sheep committed to following their black Sheppard no matter what.

Here are 5 of my eyewitness accounts and personal experiences proving the tea parties are not racist.

1. Against Hyphenating: At every rally, before singing my "American Tea Party Anthem", I say, "Hello my fellow patriots. I am NOT an African-American. I am Lloyd Marcus, AMERICAN!!!" At all 200 tea parties, the crowds of thousands have gone nuts with applause, excitement and approval. They say, "Thank you very much for saying that. Hyphenating divides us". Would racists make such a statement?

2. The Cowboy: At a Texas tea party, a white cowboy, hat, boots and a western shirt approached me pushing a stroller with two black babies. He and his white wife had recently adopted their babies from Africa. "We asked God to send us babies who need our love." Do these two white patriots sound like racists against a black president?

3. The Signs:
Ben Jealous, president of the NAACP is a characterless liar. He has NOT seen signs which read, "Lynch Barack Obama" and "Lynch Eric Holder". Such signs would be the liberal mainstream media and Democrats' dream; a perfect tool to further their efforts to gin up "hate" against tea partiers and send blacks flocking to the polls in November to defeat the white racist SOBs. If the lynch Obama/Holder signs really existed, they would be all over the media. However, I have seen numerous signs referring to me, a black man, which read, "Lloyd Marcus for President".

4. The Wheelchair Lady:
At a tea party in Traverse City, Michigan, an extremely excited white woman in a wheelchair saw me approaching. She yelled, "Oh my gosh, it's Lloyd Marcus! I love your music! I read your columns! May I have a picture with you?" The wheelchair lady's adult daughter shared with a staff member, "My mom is dying. She said all she wanted to do was to meet Lloyd Marcus". How could anyone call this warm and wonderful patriot a racist?

5. Countless Thanks: Fighting back tears, countless tea party patriots of all ages, races and both sexes have thanked me, a black man, for my efforts to restore our freedoms, liberty and culture. These patriots are not racist, far from it. Because of our shared love for America and freedom, we consider each other brothers and sisters. Attempts to slander them as racists, opposing a president simply because he is black, is evil.

So, there you have it folks; five eyewitness accounts rather than "hearsay and lies" which prove the tea parties are not racist.

In my song, "American Tea Party Anthem" I sing, "So when they call you a racist, cause you disagree. It's just another of their dirty tricks to silence you and me..." Folks, please, please, do not fall for it. Do not allow yourselves to be intimidated and silenced. The stakes are far too high. Our nation is under attack by a relentless, viscous and evil enemy within. We must stand up to them. Do this and we will Take Back America!

It is not incumbent upon Tea party supporters to prove they aren’t racist. It is incumbent upon the socialists/marxists to prove we are racists. They aren’t able to because there is no evidence.

Why are none of these people (and I’ve read many columns from black tea party patriots) showing up on Fox for interviews? Instead, we’re getting the likes of Al Sharpton and other posers who weren’t there, haven’t a clue, and repeat the same old lies. The “interviewers” are docile and hesitant to call them on these lies in most cases. The record is hardly ever cleared, and so the lies go on.

I can see the one that says mack daddy and bubba as being contrued as racist. Looks more like it is making fun of the racist tag to me, though. Also, Anytime you use a monkey, people take it as racist even if racism hasn’t anything to do with it. Of course, many of the same signs were used against bush and the media thought it was perfectly okay.

Great article! 5 good points to remember. All I know is that if they’re trying to villify and divide the Tea Party, it’s not working. Glenn Beck, Rush, Hannity, Levin could call for a DC tea party today for Sunday and it’d be packed! I’ve been to every one of them!

Now that would be some good ammo to use, if infact it were true. It would be nicely coupled with the pictures of all the democRATS who voted AGAINST civil rights laws back in the 60’s - main character is Al Gore Sr. and I would be willing to bet Sheets Byrd, too.

Serious question: Why hasn’t that been, at least, a focus of ads from the RNC? Don’t think for a minute that the left wouldn’t do something similar.

Unfortunately in today’s “soundbite society” the NAACP doesn’t have to present ANY evidence that The Tea Party is racist, all they have to do is level the charge and the MSM will make it stick.

It is, in fact, true that the KKK was founded by Democrats, primarily to keep blacks from voting Republican in the South.

Remember, the Republican party had as one of its founding principles the abolition of slavery. Also, the first black members of the House and Senate were southern Republicans.

There is certainly some real history there that should be taught. The liberals have been diligently working to protect themselves from it. Sites such as Wikipedia make a big effort to claim the KKK was a right wing group, for example.

The fact is, about one in 6 of those lynched by the KKK democrats was a white republican fighting against the oppression of blacks. The KKK was formed as the terrorist arm of the democrat party. The history of democrats and racism is a very long and seldom heard one.

He's right - the NAACP lied about this - they just made it up expecting the MSM to carry their lying water. Which the MSM did - but not all of them.

Warning. Warning. Warning.

ACORN types will try to make this lie true by planting racist signs at Tea Parties.

If you see a racist sign at a Tea Party, TAKE THE PICTURE OF THE PERSON HOLDING THE SIGN. It'll be a liberal - and the MSM will crop the head out of the picture so the person can't be traced. Then we'll be blamed.

The liars, the dissemblers will do what they can to attack our good name. Be prepared.

Well, you know, black people can’t be portrayed as monkeys beause, you know, liberals believe black people descended from monkeys, so showing a black person as a monkey is like saying they haven’t evolved and are still primal.

So while you and I might simply think “don’t make a monkey out of me” when we see Obama pictured as a monkey, or “monkey see, monkey do”, or just get the idea that Obama is monkeying around with America’s future, because he is black, and because liberals are racist, they always think a picture of a black person as a monkey must be racist.

Same thing with lynching. Every leader gets burned in effigy, or hung in effigy. But you can’t do that with Obama, because liberals think that hanging black people is something you do, and so if you hang Obama in effigy, you are “lynching” like in the old west (which of course wasn’t a black thing, and in reality only a small number of the hangings in this country were of black people, so while it is true that white racists did hang black people, it doesn’t follow that a noose must represent hanging black people).

And while Obama certainly is black, you certainly are not allowed to compare him to things that other black people have said, because it is clearly racist to compare two black people, since you must be doing it because they are black. This is why all the quotes and references to other black people like the “homey don’t play that” reference are clearly devisive and racist.

Frankly, I’ve pretty much given up, and decided we should all just call everybody racist. It no longer has any meaning, once everybody is accused.

I’m trying to get to the root of the “conservatives are racist” BS that the liberals spew.

Conservatives aren’t afraid to tell the truth. The truth, that is, that 80% of wanted criminals are minorities. Or that blacks can be racist too and pointing that out doesn’t make one a racist themselves. Or, that many whites felt at least a little “white guilt” when they voted for Obama, and now regret that choice because of his policies. I also don’t think that a mildly racially insensitive joke is the same as being a racist - but the left generally thinks so. These so-called “racist” signs aren’t one-tenth as bad as the stuff Chris Rock says at his stand-up shows about his OWN race anyway.

Admitting that there are differences in culture and race and how those differences affect all of us for better or for worse is simply being honest. To a liberal, simply mentioning race (if one is a conservative) is the same as being in the KKK, but if one is a liberal, you can pretty much say “n*gger” on TV and nobody cares. In my experience, it’s usually the left who brings up race first.

True racism requires an evil intent or some sort of malice, or at least a view that a particular group is intrinsically inferior to another.

I’m of Italian descent. I’m far from a “Guido” type who wears a white wifebeater and has a Brooklyn accent, but I know why that stereotype exists and I’m not “offended” by it.

We need to stop shouting “racist” every time someone says something, or makes a joke, and instead look at a person’s actions. Playing “Barack the Magic Negro” is not a racist thing, it instead points out how the left (and particularly the black left) was acting regarding Obama. That’s far different than, say, *cough* letting a Black Panther party member slide on a criminal charge.

That is far different than lynchings, or prancing around a fire in a white hood, or even promoting segregation, something no conservative I know endorses.

Every one of those signs would be perfectly acceptable if Obama was white.

But because he is black, the liberal racists, who see everyhing in terms of their belief that blacks are inferior, call them racist. Liberals are always acting racist, taking into account a person’s skin color when judging them.

That’s why liberals call Cheney “Darth Vader” (which while evil, are suggesting that Cheney is a very GOOD evil person). But Connie Rice? She’s just a monkey, or an uncle tom. Their entire attack on a republican is based on whether that republican is black or white, with blacks getting racist treatment (oreo cookies thrown at them, derogatory name-calling, etc.).

Liberals are racists who believe in their hearts that black people are inferior, and need government’s help to compete with what liberals believe are the superior white race.

I hang around a lot of conservatives, and none of them show any of the signs of racism that liberals show every day.

It’s also true, to add to your statement about lynching-that contrary to revisionist history, the vast majority of lynchings were of people who committed heinous crimes-murder and/or rape. It wasn’t some random atrocity, or done to jaywalkers, etc.

The NAACP has to start facing the truth. If Obama were white, his approval rating would be much lower.
He got elected because he’s black, and many people are reluctant to criticize him for the same reason.
But imagine Obama is white. Oh, the vicious and vile posters we would see then. SOCIALIST SCUM, GO AWAY! YOU’RE GIVING CRACKERS A BAD NAME....

I’ve heard all sorts of racist comments. When I was young, there were a lot of adults who were still not trained to be racially sensitive.

But the average person today who decides to say Obama is a monkey is not saying so because he is black. Most of the attacks on Obama are because of what he is doing; his being black is all that allows the racist liberals to say the attacks are racist.

I understand that if you don’t want to be called a racist, you must take into account the race of the person you are attacking, and there are attacks you cannot use if the person is of a particular race.

I also understand that saying that I have to be race-conscious in my attacks or else I am racist is both absurd and contradictory, like so much of the liberal racist philosophy.

So sure, I wouldn’t use a monkey. Well, I’d go to use a monkey, but then say “wait, Obama is black, and I can’t use a monkey in association with a black”. Then I’d realise that any attack on Obama will be considered racist. If I say he is incompetent, the liberal racists will say that I obviously am saying that because he is black (that’s because the liberal racists believe blacks are incompetent).

So, when the left drew pictures of Bush as a monkey, were they being racist, declaring that Bush was as stupid as a black person and therefore we should draw him as a monkey?

Or did they mean something other than “he’s black and we are racist”?

If you think that using a monkey as a representation of a white politician makes sense, then you can’t argue that using it against a black politician must be racist. IN fact, I would argue that NOT using it against a black politician is racist, because you are discriminating because of race.
