First Dog Bo Flown to Maine on Separate Gov't Jet for Obama Vacation

Barack Obama had the family dog Bo flown to Maine in a separate government jet for the Obama family's vacation weekend, according to news reports.

Arriving in a small jet before the Obamas was the first dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog given as a present by the late U.S. Sen Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.; and the president's personal aide Reggie Love, who chatted with Baldacci.

BTW, Obama's aide Reggie Love gets paid $102,000 per year of taxpayers' money to handle Bo and hold Obama's ice cream cones, among other highly sought after well-paid jobs skills.

And why would it matter? Either way, they flew separately, which, IMO was unnecessary.

If Bo the dawg decides to jet out to Vegas for some fun.... it might help the tourist economy and private aviation industry recover from obama’s sneering criticism of “fat cats”

Does it matter. The aide could have flown coach, like the little people do. The only time2 I've flown first class has been when the flight was overbooked and they gave me a free upgrade. Even though I've been flying on business, mostly as a military contractor and a few times as military, off and on for 35 years, I can count the number of times that has happened on one hand.

What is it with the Obamas and ice cream cones anyway? FNC did a piece this morning showing them walking around eating ice cream cones.

I googled ice cream - muslims. Apparently some of them have an issue with ice cream. Sad, but true.

Does it matter? The aide could have flown coach, like the little people do. The dog could have flown in the cargo bay, like the dogs of the little people. The only times I've flown first class has been when the flight was overbooked and they gave me a free upgrade. Even though I've been flying on business, mostly as a military contractor and a few times as military, off and on for 35 years, I can count the number of times that has happened on one hand. I don't care about the extra nice dishes and real silverware, but I love the big seats and more leg room.

No offense to your post kristinn, but I don't think this is any big deal, nor do I think the headline accurately reflects the content. There are any number of flights that occur in advance of a presidential vacation. The entire entourage doesn't fly on AF1.

When the president's aide went to Maine, he took the dog with him. Not that big a deal.
