A 20-year-old Jersey City mother Jessica Figueroa, has been charged with endangering the welfare of her two toddlers and her 7-month-old baby after leaving them at home alone for hours Saturday night into early Sunday while she allegedly went clubbing in Manhattan, police said.

...

No harm came to any of the children thanks to neighbors who took care of the three tots after finding a tearful 3-year-old boy and his NAKED 2-year-old sister roaming the second-floor hallway of the family's Arlington Avenue apartment building at about 8:15 p.m. with no adult supervision, police spokesman Lt. Edgar Martinez said.

A resident spotted the 2- and 3-year-olds crying and wandering the hallway at around 8:15 p.m., police said. When the man asked where their mother was, the 2-year-old replied, "Mommy's not here," according to reports.

The resident who saw the toddlers wandering around in the apartment hallway, called his girlfriend and took the toddlers to the apartment they lived in. The door was open and the 7-month year old baby was on a mattress crying.

Mind you, the DOOR WAS OPEN!

When the police finally got a cell number for the biological "mother", a couple of hours later, and told her that her children were at the South District precinct on Bergen Avenue she told them she told them she was at a club in Manhattan and would return IF she could get a ride,

BTW where is DAD? On WELFARE? What's the going rate for three little ones?

How can you be 20 years-old, have THREE kids and be out partying?

I’ll probably get flamed for saying this, but there are some young people in the world that really ought to have their lines snipped/tied.

By getting your first taste of the one-eyed snake at age 16 and keep coming back for more. What a loser...on our dime!

Our young people are no longer adults at 20 years old, as earlier generations of Americans were. I'm constantly amazed at the high degree of responsibility and achievement of young Americans in centuries past.

The Constitution stipulates that a president must be at least 35 years of age. I can't picture a person of that age running this country in this day and age, but it was entirely realistic in the 18th century, due to the character of the culture in that day.

My grandparents were born in the early 20th century. They married when they were just teenagers, but my grand dad was already a sure provider and a professional man. My grandmother had the first of her five children when she was 18, and raised them all to be successful people. Even in their day youngsters became responsible adults much earlier than they do today.

C'mon folks, lighten up.

She was merely going out to a club in order to make a new sibling for her children so they wouldn't be lonely!

Well, nowadays they are expected to do 16 years in day care. Twelve in primary and secondary, four in college, typically.

My Grandma in pre-WW I days graduated from the eighth grade and went to work as a maid. She never stopped working even after marrying and raising four kids.

Is there really any doubt that you and I and the other taxpayers are ALREADY supporting her and her growing family?

So in a financial sort of way, she is already practically a member of all of our families!
