The simplest answer is usually the best one. Why can't it simply be a single-letter misspelling of “repudiate” (f instead of p), rather than a neologism? The context is good to me—”peaceful Muslims, disavow and separate yourselves from (repudiate) the idea of a ground-zero mosque”—as opposed to the “correction” she offered, asking Muslims to “refute” (offer evidence up against) it. I fault her lame "correction," not her original simple mistake.
