I-580 Oakland shooter Byron Williams was Tea Party sympathizer
According to Bob Egelko and Henry K. Lee of the San Francisco Chronicle, the man who terrorized Oakland (causing Adams Point residents to take to online chat rooms about the helicopter and shooting noise) was a parolee named Byron Williams who hated left-wing politicians and had on a bullet-proof vest. In other words, a Tea Party sympathizer.

He was a twice-convicted felon driving on a suspended license with an arrest history including assault, property destruction, a DUI, hit and run, and theft. And, yes, he was allegedly driving drunk prior to yesterday’s shootout — which only occurred because Highway Patrol officers pulled him over en route to whatever grand plans he was intent on carrying out.
Williams was apparently prone to maniacal rants about about left-wing politicians taking away his rights and lived with his mother in backwoods Groveland in Tuolmne County. She had a locker full of guns, as she believed that armed resistance against our government was inevitable — but Williams allegedly made off with the stash because he felt that time was now. (He purportedly skipped out on a dinner date with mom; they were going to make a salsa together). In addition to a large cache of weapons, Williams was clothed in body armor, which enabled him to absorb numerous shots and survive.

The mother of a Groveland man who opened fire on California Highway Patrol officers during a traffic stop in Oakland early Sunday said her son was upset with the government and had a difficult time rebuilding his life following a prison term.
She said Bryon had been unable to get a job since being released from prison more than 2 years ago for a bank robbery conviction.

FBI joins investigation of I-580 shootout
OAKLAND, CA (KGO) — Investigators are trying to figure out where a man was heading Saturday with guns and body armor, when he got into a shootout with CHP officers on I-580 in Oakland.
In the meantime, FBI agents are looking into 45-year-old Byron Williams’ background and the contents of his controversial diary which was seized after the shooting.
When Williams was arrested he was in possession of a high-powered rifle, a shotgun and a handgun. Authorities say he had enough ammunition on him to kill at least 50 people, but it was a notebook that brought the FBI into the picture. The contents of the notebook are still unknown, but information provided by his mother indicates he had a very serious problem with what he considered to be liberals and what they were doing to the United States.

He may or may not have been a Tea Party sympathizer. However, I’m sure the Tea Party did not sympathize with him. The Tea Party believes in peaceful assembly.
I sat next to Zennie on a flight from Denver to Oakland last year and conversed with him the whole trip. All I can say is he is at least bright enough to know Guam won’t tip over but to cut it in a nutshell he is a believer that tax paid government employees will bring about utopia.
In case you are reading Zennie, yes you do believe government can and will solve all problems. The Tea Party does not believe paying more and more people with tax dollars will solve anything.
