“Jim Miller was a life-long resident of Sweetwater. He was the President of Jim Miller Excavating Co. for over 20 years in environmental remediation of underground petroleum storage tanks and other excavations. Jim served as 1st District Chairman of the Republican Party and recently as the Chairman of the Monroe County Election Commission.”
“Some community members told 10News that they have heard the body in the car is that of Jim Miller. They also said they were told by people at two separate churches Sunday morning that Miller had been shot. That has not been confirmed by authorities.”

The Tennessean snip --------
"He was a friend to everybody in this county," she said. "He was like the father of the county."
Next door neighbor Leslie Johnson said he would pay bills for local residents struggling.
"It's just senseless," she said of his death.
