I assume this is a bunch of whiney city folks who want to do this and have no idea what a pest a wolf is?

Put me in the ‘I swear I saw a mtn lion’ column.

Driving back from Monroe, NC to Raleigh about 10 yrs ago I crossed the Rocky River on hwy 601.

Just on the other side of the bridge was an animal that had been struck by a car.
It was large, about mtn. lion size and had a long tail, buff/ tan color.

I had just gotten a speeding ticket and was so pi$$ed I didn’t stop to verify but I’m pretty sure it was a mtn. lion. Can’t think of what else it could have been.

Anybody have a caliber recommendation?

I’d think that the standard 5.56 x 45 should work fine, but I suppose I could go to the 7.62. Given the reputation of wolves, I’d not like to have to use the .40. Plus I like the idea of the 30 round mag for packs.

Also, to the introducing agency, if you don’t want your animals shot, keep them off of my property.

These work great on everything from prairie puppies to coyotes (see vid link below). I use them in my AR-15 (5.56) for coyotes and woodchucks.

Sons of bitches. Every wolf let loose should be targeted and shot.

--I suspect the animal rights folks are behind this and for the protection of mountain lions because wolves and lions will reduce deer and elk herds to the point where hunting will be unnecessary for any kind of control, therefore hunting can be prohibited--

-works for the gun-control people, too--

First, the Center for Biological Diversity is a neo-Nazi organization.

Second, I’m all for open season on every member of the Center for Biological Diversity.

The wolves I don’t care about. I can handle that.

Realistically, that sounds about right.

It’s so insane it’s tempting to think it will never happen. But we’re living in bizarro world now, so you never know.

They aren’t on the east coast, or at least here in North Carolina.

You hear reports of sightings, but I have yet to see any proof. Of course, some people SWEAR they’ve seen them up in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Rural southern Indiana here. We hadn't seen a mountain lion in fifty years. Until they took a picture of one a short ways from here about a month ago. They are re-establishing their range.
