A bizarre extortion tale of the South Pacific
Minneapolis Star Tribune ^ | 6/22/2010 | James Walsh

Posted on 07/22/2010 7:17:56 AM PDT by toast

Why would the federal government fly a U.S. Navy officer, his Samoan wife and her unemployed sister thousands of miles from Hawaii to Minnesota to appear in a small St. Paul courtroom?

Would you believe an alleged extortion plot involving Mexican hit men hired by Wal-Mart, t he Samoan mafia, an exotic dancer from Guam, her love child and a fearful farm family from Granite Falls, Minn.?

You have GOT to read this. Any article involving the Samoan Mafia and the “Dreaded Burrito Gang” is right up your alley.

All that’s missing from the plot is a wealthy Nigerian banker on the lam.

Too bad the “Samoan Mafia” didn’t exist. It sounds like David R, and his wife, Fia, and SIL, Tau, cost his parents their farm, and his sister, her home, plus living in fear and on the run.
What absolute scum.

I fear you are taking Fia and Lt. Comm. Rosetter's story altogether too lightly. No cause for levity.

The very same Burrito Gang abducted my baby sister from the Emergency Room right after she was attacked by the moose.

I have always felt guilty about that. But it was the week I was abducted by aliens and mercilessly probed in the space vehicle's lab. My neighbors ratted me out to them because as is well known in rural Maine, I frequently watch the Jerry Springer Show in color, but I don't need no TV.

Right after that, I voted for Obama, and am presently receiving stimulus money and the settlements paid to African-American Farmers, in case I ever meet one.

"No? Would you believe a farcical tale involving a Taco Wagon driver hired by Costco, the lavender mafia, a retired karaoke bar owner, her pet chihuahua and a pack of rough Amish yutes?"

Just wow.

But for a moment there, I thought this story had something to do with Big Mexican Women

Big Mexican Women Help AWOL Afghan Pilots Escape Lackland AFB
Maggie's Notebook ^ | July 20, 2010 | Maggie M. Thornton

Posted on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 6:03:23 PM by maggiesnotebook

The 17 reported AWOL Afghan pilots at Lackland AFB's English Language Institute has now ballooned to 46. A network known as "Big Mexican Women," or BMW's are believed to have helped the men escape to Canada or taught them how to live under-the-radar in the U.S.

One Big Mexican Woman is in custody. The odd thing is, there is little reporting on this story, with the exception of Fox New.

Oh good grief. That man destroyed the lives of his parents and his sister. He deserves to have the book thrown at him. Lock him up and throw away the key. That’s about as low as anybody can get. Even most hardened criminals keep their illegal activity out of their immediate family, and most of them love their moms.

I really can’t grasp why any of the parties involved would think that this could end well.

That's because you're relatively sane.

I would have said completely sane, but you did mention that "similar sense of humor" thingy.
