-- Former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Friday he's angry about being put through a long-running criminal investigation into his role in the firings of U.S. attorneys.
"I feel angry that I had to go through this. That my family had to suffer through and what for?" Gonzales said in an interview with CNN.
The investigation by career prosecutor Nora Dannehy that began in September 2008 found the Justice Department's actions in the firings of U.S. attorney David Iglesias of New Mexico during the Bush administration were inappropriately political, but not criminal. The investigative team also determined that the evidence did not warrant expanding the scope of the investigation beyond the removal of Iglesias.

He’s absolutely right...
Has the former attorney general secured the southern border yet????
running that kind of gantlet is the politics biz, sweetheart, and if your family didn’t know it while all this was happening, it ought to have known it.
Criminalizing politics is de rigueur of the Democrat/Totalitarian party and it is the electrified thrid rail never to be touched for the pantywaist GOP.
Don’t know but this is a different topic.
Why would anyone want to live among such a nest of vipers. Nothing is worth living and working in such a place.
That’s what W gets for playing nice with rats. 20/20 hind sight says that only an aggressive eradication program works when dealing with progressives, liberals and fellow travelers.
One of Bush’s worst faults was his refusal to protect those who worked for him. I will never understand why Dubya didn’t use his veto power to block terrible legislation, nor will I understand why he abandoned so many faithful appointees to the wolves. Such weakness won him no favors with the Democrats, and cost him the respect of many Republicans.
And while you are at it tell me what day he started his investagation of Franklin Raines from freddy and fanny. and when do you think Raines will get out of jail. I think the answer to both is never.
