[snip] Update 3:55pm Eastern Cloture vote falls short, DISCLOSE Act fails 57-41.

Schumer won’t let go:

Sen. Charles Schumer, the sponsor of the stalled campaign finance bill, promised Tuesday that Democrats would hold round-after-round of votes on it until it passes.

Schumer (D-N.Y.) spoke to reporters following the weekly caucus luncheons, slamming Republicans for holding up the response to the Citizens United Supreme Court case, which allowed unlimited political spending by corporations and unions.

“And we will go back at this bill again and again and again until we pass it,” he said. “It’s that vital, not to Democrats, not to Republicans, but to the future of people’s faith in the functioning of this government.”

Lets do a new version in January that applies only to Non-Profits, Unions, and Public Unions.

Sure Chucky. People will really have faith in a RAT-controlled Congress that thumbs its nose at the First Amendment for no purpose other than saving its own craven skin.

Anything that makes Chuck Schumer mad must be a very good thing.

We won one finally. But Chas Schumer says he’s going to keep bringing it up and bringing it up until the GOP cries uncle. It’s embarrassing to be represented by this commie fascist.

Of course they will. Must take the opposition out of the game (while leaving the unions political action unaffected).

People's faith in Democrat controlled government??? Chucky is smoking something. They think this is a popular issue to work up the base if no-one else.

Big whoop. It is only a matter of time before Snowe “makes history” cuts a backroom deal and votes with the dems for this turkey.

Somebody should tell Smuck that he's not in charge (yet).

And if Hapless Harry loses, and we DON'T win the Senate, then God help all of us because Smuck will be in charge.

“which allowed unlimited political spending by corporations and unions.”

Well, that’s one POV. Another is that groups of people have the same freedom as individuals.

I live in Maine.

Last Saturday, I drove down the public road that leads to Olympia Snowe’s summer home, which is located on a point on the rocky Maine Coast.

Anyhow, there are other homes on the road which leads to the waterfront. One of those homes had three large American flags flying upside down. In front of this home’s front door, there was a huge white cardboard sign with words written in black magic marker. The sign said,
THROW THE BUMS OUT. I’m sure Olympia Snowe has seen this sign many times. It put a smile on my face!

It’s that vital, not to Democrats, not to Republicans, . . .

Wrong. Schumer never does ANYTHING that is not vital to helping the Democrat party remain in power.
