Michelle Obama will feel our pain in Spain but only at $2859 a night

"The pain in Spain falls mainly on the vain".

After Obama declared in a July 27, 2010 interview with ABC's Elizabeth Leamy, “We’re not that far removed from what most Americans are going through," we find out that Michelle Obama has booked a very expensive vacation to Spain accompanied by "long-time family friends". The liberal media that did decide to cover it calls it a "private" vacation, but since when have the Obama's used their own money?

The trip will not include Obama and Malia. And strangely, the trip will coincide with Obama's birthday because he will be visiting his CEO office at the auto plants he owns in Michigan and taking a trip to Chicago to attend Trinity Church with William Ayers.

I have a few questions.

How about the other 30 rooms ??? How about the dog ??? Who pays for the dog’s room, board and airfare on this vacation ???

Don't worry, w-girl, I'm sure that the obama's will be as transparent about this as they have been about everything else so far.

hey cut her some slack...she’s only a couple years removed from worrying about credit card bills...and stuff. At least that’s what Bambi would have you believe.

That was back when she had that job working diversity issues for the hospital for $300K per year. She knows the hard life.

That poor dog is nothing but a prop for that family. Perhaps the younger daughter has grown attached to it, but the rest of the family just look on it as a prop, to be passed around to staff to walk, feed etc.

The staff stays in the same hotel as the players. Why should they complain?

The things the poor King of Spain, who is ill, has to put up with. First Hugito Chavez and now this vulgar woman.

Why do these people need so many vacations? They’ve never done a day’s work in their lives.

I don't think that even the Ritz-Carlton in Marbella has 30 rooms that cost $2859 per night.

I am not sure that they even have one; the most expensive that I could find was a villa at only 1540 euros.

I did find a combo package clearly meant for large parties at 2200 euros per night; occupancy is set at 6 people; the package includes 3820 square feet inside and 2217 outside, with separate dining area, two separate bedrooms, two restrooms, three terraces, five telephone lines, and breakfast is included for up to six guests.

“The staff stays in the same hotel as the players. Why should they complain?”

By “staff,” I was referring to the larger set of White House advisors/confidants and supposedly clearer-headed people who actually care about perception—the ones who look at polls and try to salvage at least a VENEER of propriety.

Don’t know about anyone else, but my life is full of people who don’t mind speaking their minds to me (albeit tactfully). Spouses, employers, and family members often play devil’s advocate and keep most of us in line. But this bunch in the White Hut must be immersed in yes-men and ill-bred flunkies who want their short-lived ride on the gravy train. That was my only point.

There's more:

Following their Spanish jaunt, Mrs Obama and Sasha will tour the oil slick-devastated Gulf Coast of Florida before spending ten days on the New England resort island of Martha's Vineyards, a long-term favourite of celebrities and politicians.

WELL, well! Guess not getting invited to Chelsea Clinton’s Wedding really put her nose out of joint. Therefore,in order to NOT be totally over-looked, Le Petit Michelle decided to “Show the rest of the World that SHE had something BETTER to do that weekend”! Granted, I’m just being a “smart alek” here, but with the whole Country going to hell in a handbasket, is this really a good time to be wasting the Tax Payers hard earned money??????????

She’s callous and self-indulgent is the charitable explanation.

But consider . . .

Out of nowhere she decides to go to Marbella. She’ll be out of town for Barack’s birthday. Her activities in Spain will be closed to the press. She has to know she takes a PR hit for this. If I were in foreign intel, say in France which just declared war on Al-Qaeda, I would want to know what visitors she has in Marbella. Lots of dirty big money, much of is Islamic, floating around that town the height of the season.

Great photo.

“A picture is worth 13 trillion words”....updated to reflect our indebtedeness to the current residents of the White House.
