There were no U.S. Navy or maritime coalition vessels near a Japanese supertanker damaged in an incident in the Strait of Hormuz, a Fifth Fleet spokesman said.

Asked if there were any U.S. navy or coalition vessels close to the supertanker at the time, he said: “No, there were none close to the ship ... none of our vessels were involved.”

Iran is retaliating for the sanctions by picking off easy targets.

The war is coming....... the breeze has a few gusts.

If a war against Iran is inevitable let it be a war that we wage to win. Yes, wars can be won. Ask Japan and Germany. And Iran is no Japan or Germany.

I think many people have been convinced that wars can't be won any more. They still think of conventional "capture the flag" wars and when no war since WWII has been fought that way, they quickly lose confidence since they don't recognize what a win looks like. The difference between Korea and Vietnam was that in Korea we stayed and South Korea prospered. In Vietnam we cut and run and people told themselves it couldn't be won. Cutting and running had a profound impact on the population and we still live with the scars today and saw them on brilliant display in Afghanistan and Iraq. If winning is possible, people need to know what it looks like.

It seems to me, we aren’t trying to win any war. A win would shut down the vast amount of money spent and people who profit would lose a bundle.

Iran has the same GDP as the state of Alabama but has 5X the population.
