Your probaly right but I do not care if we kill every damn one of them.
I can’t say what those animals did to our servicemen, but I know what they did to the Russians.
They tortured them, in the most disgusting ways imaginable. They they sawed their heads off.
It would NOT surprise me in the least to learn that they repeated their innate animal brutality on our soldiers.
Worse yet, the country is a post war British experiment. There is no rightful govt and it’s more like five countries made into one....

I agree with Steele, this is Obama’s war...I think Bush and everyone recognized that Iraq was the prize....

There is a very good reason we were told of the unwritten rule which stated if your helicopter is shot down, fight like hell but if capture is eminent, the last round in your clip is for you.
In short, these brave men are dying for absolutely nothing. This is the muslim version of Vietnam, albiet on a much smaller scale, at least so far. This thing could never be on the same scale as Vietnam because our military is just so much smaller now.
In 10 years, nothing will have changed in Afghanistan except for more American blood and treasure flushed down the crapper.
What at waste. Very sad.

I had to search hard through the news yesterday just to learn his name, Jared Newlove, and prayed for him through the night. What happened to these two? Why were they out on their own? I pray they were not tortured or brutalized. God bless their souls and may the Good Lord be with their families and loved ones.

No, never been in the Navy. But, I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express - and I did spend three years in the Army as an MP, a good bit of my time spent dragging dumb Army, Marine and Navy guys out of the strangest places,often after curfew, saving their own bacon from themselves. If you are suggesting that Navy guys are not prone to sneak off post or base seeking a little action - well, either you think I am stupid or you are stupid...
These are our guys, paying the ultimate price.

They definitely weren't SEALs. They were IA (individual augmentee). IA is a popular concept in the Navy these days. Sailors are selected for IA duty and sent off to one of the many CONUS army bases for a quick lesson in soldiering. When they arrive in-country (Afghanistan and Iraq are the most popular destinations) their job is to perform behind-the-lines administrative duties which free up soldiers and Marines for fighting. Until now, IA duty was monotonous but relatively safe with most navy combat casualties happening to corpsmen and special warfare. I may be wrong but these two just might be the first IA sailors KIA.
My money says they were in violation of several orders in place to better ensure their safety when they got lost driving outside the safe zone so your scenario #2 might be correct. The official report will eventually tell us what happened.

Anyone leaving that base has to check out with the gate guards. They can’t just “blow by the gate” ~ per someone who deploys there.
I agree. Every other country hates us anyway, so lets give them reasons. Bring our soldiers home and put them on the Mexican border.
