The huge black billboard is hard to miss, looming over a stretch of Route 22 in Hillside like a harbinger of death, or at least the right to die:
"My Life My Death My Choice FinalExitNetwork.org"
The 15-by-49-foot billboard stands on the westbound side of the highway, facing eastbound traffic. The message went up June 28, paid for by Final Exit Network, a nationwide group that provides guidance to adults seeking to end a life of constant pain from incurable illness.
The billboard, along with one in San Francisco and another planned for Florida, anchor a national campaign by the network to raise awareness of itself and its mission. Members say the locations were chosen for their reputations as socially progressive and, in Floridas case, for its elderly population. "What were trying to do is let people know that Final Exit Network exists, and that were here, and if they spend a little time trying to find out what we do, they might actually support us," said Bob Levine, 88, of Princeton, who founded the groups New Jersey chapter after his first wife died of cancer.
Levine said reaction on the organizations website has been mixed: "From, God bless you, we finally have somebody who understands us, to You are a bunch of atheists and you ought to be put in jail." Criticism has also come from two other corners: suicide prevention counselors and the Catholic Church.
Jim Goodness, a spokesman for the Archdiocese of Newark, said the message "cannot be condoned." "The Catholic Church teaches, and has always taught, that all human life has dignity and all human life is precious," he said. Therapists called the billboard "irresponsible," arguing it could serve as a "tipping point" for troubled teens or others at risk of suicide.

Wow, this is disgusting.
My end of life instructions are this: I am lingering until there is no money left.
What these bozos don’t understand and they aren’t telling the public is when it’s their time; they will not have a choice. It will be the choice of the government; not them.
Isn’t this kind of a waste of money on their part, since Obamacare is already going to accomplish the intended result?
San Francisco?
Does that one say,
"Got AIDS?
Get dead. "?
Can I put up a billboard encouraging liberal/Progressives to kill themselves?
At first this will be voluntary, then it will become mandatory. God help the human race!
Wouldn't that be a rich twist in the stranger-than-fiction story that is the ascension of Obama?
It is a fly.
Oh yeah. I remember that pic.
The topic got my imagination running away with me.
I could see a billboard geared toward congress and
senate.
Harry Reid on left, noose in middle, cemetary plot on right
Underneath
“Harry, put an end to the suffering, do the right
thing!”
One of the hardest things I have ever done, is put my beloved pet down. He had been my beloved companion for nearly 12 years, but with Kidney and Liver failure, compounded with Diabetes - he was suffering and there was simply no cure.
Sure, I could have given him 2 shots a day, and perhaps extended his suffering another 6 months - but who would that have benefitted? He would not understand why I was jabbing him 2x a day with a needle, and would come to fear me - meanwhile the other ailmenst would continue to cause him pain.
So, with tears in my eyes, and love in my voice I petted my dog while the vet administered the shot. I looked at him in the eye, told hime how much I loved him, and stroked his fur as the drug slowed - then stopped his heart. After the vet had confirmed his heart had stopped, I continued stroking him, and telling him what a good dog he was.
Then I broke down and cried like a father who has lost a child; for that is very much how I viewed my pet. My wife was spared the ordeal. We buried him in our back yard when she got home, together.
Now I think, he went out calmly, with a minimum amount of pain, held and comforted by someone whom he loved; and who loved him. He didn’t die alone, ignored and in pain - and I ask my Heavenly Father if I too can go out my beloved pet did. Calmly, painlessly as possible, with the support and love of those who have been close to me throughout my life.
We will grant this gift to our animals; but deny this to ourselves. If you opt to remain on earth as long as you possibly can - that’s fine. That’s your choice.
I simply ask for the same consideration when dealing with my own mortality.
Sadly, you are correct.
I can envision a decision-making algorithm under Obama Healthcare Confiscation that correlates diagosis/prognosis/age/and political (or media) affiliation with one's probability of ending up in the the next batch of Soylent Green.
