Global AIDS Activists Pine For President Bush

The Washington Post reported yesterday on the frustration and anger among international AIDS charities with the White House. The groups argue that President Obama’s administration has reneged on pledges to fund antiretroviral therapy programs.

The programs have been big successes in Africa, which faces epidemic levels of infection. “In sub-Saharan Africa, antiretroviral therapy, much of it paid for by the U.S. government, is resurrecting whole communities,” the Post reports.

That progress is endangered, the charities say, by a shortage of funds. They now long for the good old days of ... the previous administration.

Bush gave TOO MUCH damn money for this cause. I guess when you’re used to cash, you will miss it when its gone.

Why is it OUR responsibility to fund research so Africans can engage in irresponsible sex without consequences?

Bush did a lot for the African people. Much of that is lost on most.

Hmmmm. Be careful what you wish for. Apparently much of Africa had not learned much from their fellow “peeps” who kept them in slavery and butchered them for years. And now they have a “brother” who will keep killing them by a different tactic.

I believe Obama to be a self loathing black man who (like most of his compadres) uses the “Black” part of him (body AND soul) for advantage only. If I were black, I would fear this man...

They still act like they have no clue about the main cause of AIDS. Hint: it's not holding hands.

I say that because I am recovering from my third operation in 18 months due to mrsa in my spine. I just want to yell from the hilltops that MRSA KILLS MORE PEOPLE THAN AIDS IN AMERICA!!! Ok, I feel better. Now to go take my antibiotics that I paid for.

That’s funny - when I went out at lunch, I saw a poster in the bus shlelter that had the left half Obama’s face and the right half Bush’s, and the caption said something like “Guess who did more for AIDS?”

It’s truly mind bending that Uganda’s chastity programs were not followed by the rest of the world. They managed to reduce their infection rate by a large margin, while most other countries ignored the lesson. What is sick is giving billions to fight a disease that is readily preventable by common sense.
