GREGG: SOLICITOR GENERAL ELENA KAGAN IS QUALIFIED TO BE THE NEXT ASSOCIATE JUSTICE OF THE U.S. SUPRE
Judd Gregg ^ | July 30, 2010 | Judd Gregg

Posted on 07/30/2010 4:08:29 PM PDT by Sir Valentino

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) today made the following statement regarding the nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagan to the United States Supreme Court.

Senator Gregg stated, “The Senate’s duty to provide advice and consent on Presidential nominations to the Supreme Court is one of its most significant constitutional responsibilities. Separate and distinct from its legislative function, the confirmation process requires the Senate to put aside politics and conduct a frank and evenhanded review of the nominee’s record, qualifications and demonstrated ability to apply the law in a fair and impartial manner.

“I have met personally with Solicitor General Elena Kagan, reviewed her record, and followed her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. During this process, Ms. Kagan has pledged that she will exercise judicial restraint and decide each case that comes before her based on the law, with objectivity and without regard to her personal views. She also has served the American people under two different administrations and has a strong legal academic background. She is qualified to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Ms. Kagan and I may have different political philosophies, but I believe that the confirmation process should be based on qualifications, not ideological litmus tests or political affiliation. I will vote for her confirmation.”

the fact that she don’t follow the constitution makes her UNQUALIFIED. Got nothing to do with ideology

It is a looooooong shot... but there is a case with merit asking that kagen be disbarred... and she might. She is guilty of altering a medical report when she worked for clinton and used it to sue for reversal of partial birth abortion before the SCOTUS.

Gregg isn’t a RINO. He merely reflects the weak kneed, spineless attitude the OP(formerly the GOP) has maintained for decades with the RATs. It’s one big socialist Republicrat party.

“...what is it with north east republicans?”

:::::::::::::::::

I don’t think there is such a thing. They are all DemoRATs. Some are just too ashamed, and guilt ridden, to put a “D” after their name. Obama’s multi-generational theft has provided the necessary funds to buy any crook in the Congress....

There are about 20 progressive republicans in the senate.

And yes they love it when you leave the party because of them. they are after all, socialists.

Hey Gregg, how did you get past the part where she knowingly and blatantly lied about partial birth abortion?

Politics, personal feelings, etc. aside, there is NO EXCUSE for what she did. The woman is a proven LIAR.

RINOs are by far the ugliest, most vile form of existence. That tehy don’t self-destruct from their own self-serving contradictions is an amazing feat. The Heavenly Father didn’t create RINOs. The are self-made creatures of evil endeavors.

Kill All RINOs (politically speaking, of course).

‘Vote ‘em all out — Dem or Republican — in November.’

Well that would mean that you are endorsing the election of about 200 Obama supporting non-incumbent Democrats to Congress this year. The viewpoint of a traitor or an idiot.

Again, as I said before:

One of the reasons we are constantly given as to why we need to get behind “electable” RINOs is because they, unlike the Democrats, will hold Judge nominations to a powerful standard of “Strict Constructionism.” Allegedly, without them standing in the way on our behalf, the Democrats will simply run through Liberal Activist after Liberal Activists to pack the Courts.

The Kagan nomination should put that tired, weak argument to bed for good.

If we cannot count on the establishment RINOs to come through on those scarce few things they promise to come through on, then there is no remaining argument as to why a Conservative should support them.

They can no longer sell us on the idea that we need to support whomever the GOP puts forward because of the fight over “Strict Constructionist” judges, because guys like Graham and Lugar have now proven they they are, in fact, going to go to bat for the opposition, and not us.

The one good thing that comes from this is that we can soundly put to rest one of the most commonly used defenses by the establishment GOP in defense of RINOs.
