No warning signs here any more than there were with the Fort Hood Shootings ... at least, none that the Military can consider
The editor of a leaks scandal sheet foams at the mouth at the US military... no, no motivation for evil acts here, none whatsoever...
So, a queer’s hissy-fit has placed our Soldiers and many others’ lives in jeapordy.
Sad but I’m not terribly surprised.
Since he most likely won’t face a firing squad for treason, hopefully a few decades in Leavenworth will help him to understand the true meaning of the word ‘despondent’.
He must have been raised as a Catholic.
or Muslim
Foreign religions will kill the US.
Mr Manning, who is openly homosexual, began his gloomy postings on January 12, saying: "Bradley Manning didn't want this fight. Too much to lose, too fast."
(snip)
Five days later he said he was "livid" after being "lectured by ex-boyfriend", then later the same day said he was "not a piece of equipment" and was "beyond frustrated with people and society at large".
Funny how this is the first I've read that this traitorous steaming pantload is "openly homosexual". Naturally, it's in the British press. I guess this little tidbit wasn't important enough for America's Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms to report. (In fact, I'm positive they actively spiked that little piece of information.)
"Openly homosexual" - - who would've guessed?
Yeah, let's repeal "Don't ask, don't tell..."
...and replace it with, "Seek and kick out immediately."
This guy is not the story. The real story is: Why didn’t the Obama Whitehouse, DOJ, Pentagon, NSA, etc. lift a finger to stop the release of these papers?
Wonder how involved the Obama administration is along with members of Congress; etc in helping this guy and Wikileaks do this crime?
Mr Manning, who is openly homosexual, began his gloomy postings on January 12, saying: "Bradley Manning didn't want this fight. Too much to lose, too fast."
"to ascertain if they missed any warnings when he applied to join the US Army?"
Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot?
Ah, methinks it's a little late eh morons?
As someone who worked both covert (in Nam) and overt Intelligence in the USAF (and recruited Agents Agents and Confidential Informants) as well as having done a 3 year stint in the USAF OSI and was responsible for conducting background Security Clearance Investigations, something here stinks to high heaven.
While the military (and gov't) have (or used to anyway) a tendency to over classify some information, ANYTHING to do with Agents/Sources should at the very least, be classified TOP SECRET.
Secondly, how did this lowly PFC get authorization or access to such information?
Last but not least, someone in the Army CID did a p*ss poor job vetting this a-hole not only before his enlistment but certainly during his background investigation.
There HAD TO BE many telltale signs of his philosophy/ideology as those don't usually simply manifest themselves and lead one to commit treason over a lover's spat and btw, if he was openly gay, did that not set off warning bells as far as his being a security risk as well?
And, am I missing something here as I thought the "Don't ask--don't tell" policy was in affect and openly practicing homosexuals were being discharged?
I guess we will learn more in time, but something just does not compute!!!
This piglet is headed for the big house, if not the death house. If we had an AG rather than a pusillanimous PC enabler, it would be the latter.
As for his co-conspirator, the loathsome sociopath Julian Assange, there are any number of ways he could be dealt with.
If the Big 0 had the gonads for it (in some alternate universe) he could simply have the baboon shot like a dog in the street, after which the president could use his ABSOLUTE power of pardons and paroles to pardon both himself and the shooters.
Obviously, that isn’t going to happen, so it is up to private citizens or foreign operatives of some kind. As an arrogant sociopath and media beast, Assange has probably not considered that there are potential state actors other than the cowardly and possibly complicit regimes currently in power in the US, the UK, and Australia.
Afghanistan is a notoriously murky operational environment. You can step on a lot of toes when you start messing around with secret ops in that part of the world.
Whatever happens, Assange has to know that he can never have a minute of peace for the rest of his life. There are people out there who have made it their life’s mission to take him down, and down hard. Some of them know what they’re doing.
Is that gawky looking kid walking toward him on the sidewalk actually a trained assassin with a suppressed pistol in the waistband of his jogging suit? Does that Volvo parked outside his neighbor’s house conceal a bomb in the trunk? Is the cable guy really a cable guy? Is that old fart in the parking lot a former KGB agent and is there a nasty surprise in the tip of his umbrella?
I’m very glad I don’t have to think about these things.
How is it that this person is “openly homosexual” in the U.S. Army?
Will security measures be put in place? Will names of allies be strictly classified? Will the leak of personal information from all the staff of wiki-licks be posted on the internet including financial, medical, employment, recreational?
How about a liberal tool?
Sending the FBI to look for the melinin defiecient one. I would be looking for a Jason Bourne type to sic on him.
Homosexuality used to be considered a mental disorder for good reason but due to political pressure it is now considered a "normal" lifestyle choice along with being a bisexual, a transvestite and "transgender".
Now the fudgepackers and freaks are considered more heroic than Audie Murphy for having the "courage" to "come out".
One more step towards the abyss everyday with "commander zero" in charge.
I’m sure that the administration will argue that manning’s sexual orientation had nothing to do with this massive security faux pas just like the FT. Hood shooter’s motives for the massacre had nothing to do with his religion.
...why would the Army think he was bright enough to understand that secrets must remain secret.
Give him a trial. If he is found guilty, hang him the next day from the highest tree you can find.
Skippy is not allowed to be a whiny little bitch on his Facebook page. And Skippy is definitely not allowed to do massive intel dumps to the general public just because he feels like it.
