Obama-Clinton ticket for 2012 (L. Douglas Wilder)
Politico ^ | 08/02/2010 | L. Douglas Wilder

Posted on 08/02/2010 1:37:45 PM PDT by Responsibility2nd

With midterm elections approaching, and many focusing on politics, more than a few people want to determine what the tea leaves might mean for 2012 — when the “Big One” is on us again.

It would be good for President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party to address some important issues — now.

The president’s poll numbers can be read different ways, depending on who is doing the reading. One thing is clear, though: He has to improve his favorability numbers, as well as the unsettled national mood reflected in the “right track/wrong track” indicators. Neither is easy. Nor is there a simple fix.

But one thing Obama can do is reconnect with the 2008 campaign themes he used to barnstorm the nation: “audacity’ and “change.”

Hillary's best chance was running as VP with Kerry. I believe they would have won.

It was just a bad call on her part and the parties part....

What the country needs is a good shot of old fashioned morality.

Killing babies, fags infiltrating our classrooms and courts has to go!!!

Back to basics!!

All VA Gorvernors are ‘one term wonders’. I’ll bet ya $1,000,000 that McDonnell doesn’t get reelected either. ;^p

L. Douglas Wilder is the nation’s first African-American to have been elected governor. He served in that office in Virginia from 1990 to 1994

I didn't appreciate Wilder, attacking his opponent mainly for being pro-life. However, I believe that Virginia has a one-term term limit. So, serving one term on its own doesn't reflect bad on him.

I agree. I think it will be Obama/Clinton. Particularly if Obama is weak and they lose big in 2010. Clinton will not run against Obama in 2012 unless Obama voluntarily bows out. There is no way Clinton is going to take on Obama in the primaries and alienate the black voters who are the most loyal voters they have. It would forever tarnish the Clinton brand with the black voters

"3. Remember Ft. Marcy Park."

Hillary is running in 2012.

Since neither Zero's or Hillary's narcissism will allow second place on the ticket, Zero better hire a food taster!

In Virginia, governors can only serve one term by law.

And I think Wilder is probably right-—Obama will shove the bumbling Biden under the bus and bring Hillary on board as his new VP candidate.

What does Hillary bring to this ticket? I can only think of one thing ... the appearance of someone more competent than himself.

We write off the Clintons at our own risk. People on the left still talk about the good old days of "Clinton's Economy". Riding on the coattails of that may be enough to sweep her into the White House if we aren't ready with answers.

I don’t believe that Hitlery would accept a vice-presidential spot on a ticket with Zero, especially if his numbers continue to spiral down the toilet. She has nothing to gain from being on a losing ticket, and I can’t see her being content playing second-fiddle to Zero if the American electorate was stupid enough to give the fool a second term. BTW, the word is “losing” not “loosing”.

Ah, the Clinton economy. The recession had ended in 1991 and the economy was growing smartly when Slick was elected. From 1995 on, the Republican Congress kept Slick from foolish and wasteful Democrat spending, leaving Slick plenty of free time for defending his sexual harassment of Paula and Kathleen, and playing cigar tricks with Monica.

If Obama is still in the White House after 2012, he will be serving in the only job he is cutout for... handing out clean towels in the mens room.

Hillary-McCrystal.

I, too, think that Hillary will challenge Obama. But I'm thinking it's going to be Hillary/Bayh.

You and I know this, but the MSM will keep repeating "Clinton's Economy" right up until election day. That's why we need to have our answers ready, at least for the undecideds.
