Naples Tea Party Update For August

Thomas Jefferson, recognizing that the cornerstone of our Republic rests on the foundation of an educated electorate, said that "whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government."

Unfortunately, most Americans are not well-informed about the issues that shape American politics and the government now in power in Washington. Instead, they voted for Obama, an ideologue who promised to transform America with socialist policies that promote big government, less individual freedom, class warfare, and redistribution of wealth.

That is why education is a key component of the American Tea Party revolution. For us to make informed decisions, we must educate ourselves in order to erase those biases that tend to compel voters to support policies that are not in our best interest.

Obama, the ideologue, believes in socialism and the necessary machinery to rule over a collective society. An uneducated electorate voted him into office. After almost two years, it is painfully clear that the U.S. is now paying the price for that decision.

As we head into this year's election cycle, it is imperative that everyone step it up a notch and get more engaged. The Naples Tea Party is proud of the many partnerships it has with all of the local conservative groups. We encourage you to join a group and involve yourself in the process of taking back our government.

Some of the activities are listed below for your consideration. Others will be added as we become aware of them. If you have specific interests and areas of expertise that you wish to share, don't hesitate to contact me. I will direct you to the right people in order for you to excel in the Tea Party movement.

At the Collier Republican Club meeting on August 9th, along with hearing from some Collier County School Board candidates, they are fortunate to host Pam Bondi who is running for Florida Attorney General. Pam is a fourth-generation Floridian, a State Prosecutor, and has 18-years of experience with the Hillsborough State Attorney's office. The event will be held at the Bellasera Hotel, 221 Ninth Street South in Naples. There will be a 6:00 PM Social: $10.00-pp - pay at the door with light hors d'oeuvres and a full cash bar. The scheduled program will start at 7:00 PM. All are invited.

The Council for Constitutional Principles will host Florida gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott on Saturday, August 14th at 7:00 PM at the VFW on Pine Ridge Road in Naples. This will be a good chance for those wishing to participate at an informal gathering to hear Rick Scott speak and ask him some questions. There will be a $5 admission charge, with all the proceeds going to the "Wounded Warrior Project."

The organizational meeting, in order to plan and promote the Naples Tea Party on October 2, 2010, will take place next week. Those of you that would like to participate, please contact me so that I can get a head count in determining how much room we need and how many chairs. We are shooting for Sunday afternoon on the 15th of August at a central location in Naples.

All Naples Tea Partiers are invited who will be able to spend some time between August 15th and October 2nd in promoting the Tea Party. This Tea Party will be one month before the general election and we are hoping to make it our biggest event to date. We need your help in order for this to happen. There will be many areas in which to volunteer, but we need you to attend the meeting in order to create teams and assign leaders.

Now is the time to make your final plans if you are going to attend any of the national events in Washington. Many, including the SW Florida 9-12 Group, will join Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin on August 28th at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington at what they are calling the "Restoring Honor Rally."

Then, there is the "2010 March on DC" which will be four days of spectacular freedom promoting events and presentations starting on September 9th and running through the 12th. Like last year's huge rally on September 12th when over one-million patriots attended, this is an event of the people, by the people and for the people united in action.

On Monday, September 27th at 6:00 PM, the SW Florida 9-12 Project is planning an action packed event titled "Constitutional Chaos." The event will be held at Germain Arena and the guest of honor will be Judge Andrew Napolitano like you've never seen him before.

The goal is to inspire the next generation and citizens in SW Florida to take an active roll in preserving their individual liberties protected by the Constitution.

The 9-12 Group needs your help in making this event a reality. Sponsors are needed to assist in meeting the financial obligations. This event will tie in with the Tea Party on October 2nd, so we need all Tea Party members to chip in if they can with financial support and help promote the event.
