How does the Fed choose it's lawsuits against states ?

Posted on 08/05/2010 8:52:20 PM PDT by TheRevolution1776

With the recent dismissal of the state law in Arizona by a judge on the grounds that it will interfere with the Federal's ability to function, what will they do come November in California ?

See, they will be voting yes or no on prop 19 which will legalize marijuana, however, under federal law you could still be arrested even though it is legal under state law.

Will Holder and others dispatch a team of lawyers to sue and take the proverbial teeth out of that should it pass ? They claim that the Arizona law was stepping on the toes by doing and enforcing the Federal law and job. Isn't then California over stepping on this ?

Pick and choose right ? I am curious as to what their stance is. I would have to assume (even though I hate that word) that the tax and monetary incentive would be enough for the Feds to turn a blind eye. My two cents what say all of you ?

Also, if gay marriage is okay under the Constitution why isn't consenting adults allowed to marry 70 people at once ? Polygamy was outlawed on morals grounds, which is the same reasoning for gay marriage, so what is the difference ? I say call all liberals out on these issues and force them to either open the flood gates and screw themselves when a man marries a stump and society realizes how insane the progressives really are or ban certain things for moralities sake. Again my two cents.

There is no more rule of law. And there is no logic. The law now is whatever BO, Eric Holder and a bunch of liberal judges say it is. That is, we now have the rule of man.

Good questions, and the liberals don’t have good answers.

Why won’t federal drug laws trump state laws on marijuana, if the voters of California legalize pot?

Why is Arizona not allowed to pass a law dealing with illegal aliens? As I understand it, the language in the Arizona law parallels our federal laws on illegals.

Why is California not allowed to pass a law which defines marriage in exactly the same way which the federal government defines marriage? We’re in Orwell’s 1984 or Alice in Wonderland. The federal government defines marriage as a man and a woman, yet, California broke federal law by defining marriage within the state as a man and a woman.

I agree. The liberals should be called out on these types of questions. I think that liberal judges are making up the law as they go along, they aren’t interpreting and applying the law.

Based on perceived potential vote gains.
