When a Maryland second-grader told Michelle Obama in May that her mom "doesn't have papers," little did she know the entire world could be watching including authorities with the power to send her parents back to Mexico.
"[My mother] says Barack Obama's taking everybody away that doesn't have papers," said the talkative 7-year-old, a U.S. citizen named Daisy. The exchange with the First Lady was quickly picked up on TV and online.
"Well, we have to work on that. We have to fix that," replied Mrs. Obama.
Many observers speculated at the time that the girl's undocumented parents might face imminent consequences, including arrest and deportation. So far, they haven't faced even a federal inquiry, friends say.
Still, nearly three months later, friends close to Daisy's parents say the episode continues to keep them awake at night and living in the shadows, afraid that authorities might whisk them off at any time.
"ICE only has resources to remove approximately 400,000 aliens per year," said ICE director John Morton in a June internal memo to employees.
Administrative arrests from workplace raids have plummeted under the Obama administration, from 5184 in 2008 to just 765 so far this year, while arrests of workplace managers are up 50 percent over 2007.

Not for nothing but I think these illegals should live in fear.Who the hell do they think they are coming here and sucking the life out of the taxpayers.
The sooner they all leave the better for us all.

kids legal, mommy is not? Unless dad (not mentioned) is legal, the kid is illegal to. The whole anchor baby thing needs to be addressed. And NOT in a Lindsey Gram sort of way.
There is an easy way to fix it - GO HOME!
Well the illegall aliens will have to keep their “mouthy” English speaking anchor babies in the shadows and away from the public eye places like schools, welfare offices and the Obamas wont they ???
It seems that ABC is protecting the identity of the family.
I should ad that I LOVE the fact that at least that family is blaming Obama for trying to kick them out of the country.
Man just can’t win with anyone these days.
Could ABC “News” do a story telling Americans which country they can enter illegally, then live and work in illegally and not “live in fear?”
I’m sure the people who had their identity stolen so these folks could work are also living in fear
Under the very loose criteria of the Feds today (even before blatant de facto amnesty) being born in the USA means being anchored there. If rules really were followed, the parents would have to go back home anyhow and the child couldn’t sponsor them (”anchor”) until coming of age, some 21 years following his/her birth. But it’s like, now, “borders? what steenking borders?”
“undocumented” is such a dumb term. I understand they don’t want to say that awful word “illegal,” but undocumented sounds so lame, like the xerox machine broke down.
Unless it’s going on under the table, taken from a dead person, etc.
As much as I dislike M Obama and everything she stands for she did not out the family, the kid did.
She was granted amnesty (oh no, the WH says they had nothing to do with it).
Is she still living on welfare - or is Obama sponsoring her with support for her living expenses? I'm sure that Social Security payments & retirement benefits are part of the deal.
Or “gee, we found them all here on this shelf, but there are no tags!”
What about that cousin (?) of his living in the hut in Kenya?
If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
