The videotaped Alaska camping trip between reality star Kate Gosselin and political personality Sarah Palin was a 'nightmare,' a source told the National Enquirer.
According to the tabloid, Gosselin lasted just two hours in the woods, before storming off in tears. The story suggests Gosselin acted like a 'diva' upon finding out about the bathroom situation. For the record, Palin pleaded for her to stay.

I was thinking the same thing.
I suspect Palin was lending her star quality to Kate’s show- not vice versa.
Bad judgement is becoming a Palin family trait.
Really? Now, other than the silly teenage girl, please give us details of this family trait.
Perhaps Kate expected indoor plumbing??? Perhaps Kate expected a comfortable clean ladies room, such as the ones in fancy hotels????

You don’t actually believe that it was good judgement to do a reality show with a sleazy reality “star” like Gosselin do you? I know some people would defend her if she was caught on tape kicking a puppy but still. Sarah is trying to bank as much as possible while she is still at the forefront of national politics but she really risks looking like a gold digger instead of a serious political leader and visionary. Things like this only risk making it even harder for her to woo independent voters. RWR was brilliant at winning over Dems and Independents. Sarah hasn’t shown herself to be capable of gaining the allegence of a broad swath of the electorate. This kind of childish stunt doesn’t help.
Same here Jim. It wasn’t every weekend for us, but often enough. I still enjoy a good night under the stars. When in nature, do what the other animals do. I do think it’s a good idea to dig a hole, do your business, and cover it up when you’re ready to return home.
Its not a ‘reality show’: it’s a documentary about Alaska.
Don’t accept the media’s words for things.

The toilet seat thing is really an invention of Western culture. Not that it isn’t quite convenient when available. Squat-on-feet pooping can be a strange and perhaps unbalancing experience for one not habituated to it (as in much of Asia). As a redneck, the outhouse is as far as I will take it — I don’t want to fall backwards into the poop spot, or get shat-up legs.

That Kate was lucky. As a kid I went camping out in the boonies with my parents and we were just told to squat.
The toilet seat is a luxury touch.
Clearly, Kate Gosselin was never a girl scout or has never done any back packing. She is a genuine sissy. Yes it was shocking for the cub scouts to have to use an outdoor latrine; that is the most memorable experience for any boy or girl wilderness camper.
It is even more shocking if you backpack; a sit down latrine is a luxury after spending days in the woods with a small spade and bio-degradeable toilet paper in your back pack.
Gosselin needs to grow up, IMO.
