Obama booed lustily by Boy Scouts
American Thinker ^ | August 8, 2010 | Rick Moran

Posted on 08/08/2010 9:00:15 AM PDT by Zakeet

The president decided to pass up the Boy Scouts of America's 100th Anniversary in order to make an "historic" appearance on ABC's "The View."

Despite the fact that the Jamboree was just a hop, skip, and a jump from the White House at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, the president sent a recorded message instead of showing up himself.

The reaction of the Boy Scouts to the video tells the story ...

Never was a Boy Scout myself but I understand that the Jamboree means a lot to those in attendance. And the Boy Scouts have meant a lot to America over these last 100 years, developing boys into fine men with a clear idea of right and wrong, and the satisfaction of accomplishing goals that point the way to a successful, happy life.

But I guess he would rather hobnob with celebrities like Whoppi Goldberg and Barbara Walters. I think it demonstrates where this president's priorities lie.

The real reason that he didn’t attend the Jamboree is because of politics.

That's true. Most scouts would be aware enough to know that Obama is no friend of the BSA, and that he is no kindred spirit to their values. They weren't just booing because he didn't come to the jamboree, as some want to explain it.

I think they showed great judgment in deciding whom to boo.

My grandson was there and confirmed the boos.

But I am a contrarian. I think they should have been silent. THe booing reminded me of the kids of the sixties who had no respect for authority.

Let their parents boo. But boy scouts are not supposed to be disrespectful to the duly elected President even if he is a marxist shit.

The Eagle Scout certificate has been signed by every sitting President since the inception of the BSA.

My certificate was signed by John Kennedy and was awarded to me the day after he was assassinated. The Court of Honor had been scheduled to be held that Saturday several weeks in advance in order to accommodate the travel plans of relatives and the decision was made not to cancel it.

The tragic event combined with the timing of the award causes my certificate to serve as a constant reminder of the fragility of life.

It hangs on my office wall, and has been the topic of many conversations.

Why is Whoopie holding her tummy like a pregnant woman - is she having labor pains, or getting a hernia from sucking up to Bambi? Gross.

With all due respect because I know your values...you are as wrong as wrong can be...the boys there showed deep commitment to the values and traditions of the BS by booing. They didn't riot or curse...which would have been disrespectful to the OFFICE...but did express their American First Amendment rights as free citizens by showing their disrespect for the MAN...there is a difference and you missed it.

Bravo to them !!

Lustily? I thought Boy Scouts were supposed to be clean and articulate.
They are, you aren't. Buy a dictionary.

Everywhere he goes, FReepers should be there.
Start saying quietly, “You lie. You lie. You lie.”
Over and over.
Louder and louder.

That haunting chant should follow him wherever he shows his face.

It’s nice to see Whoopie had enough respect to dress up for the President’s special historic appearance.

Dittos on your Bravo. Sometimes you just have to stand tall and allow YOUR voice to be heard. Otherwise...one sits there like a bump on the log and just takes everything that is thrown at them
The Boy Scouts would NEVER have done this if they didn’t feel deep down it was time to be heard.

I don’t know but I would think she would have taken the time to dress a little more in keeping with the moment. But then again she said on TV that she uses words and she doesn’t apologize for them. so...there ya go.
