The world is turning back to sociocultural and religious herding. The older mainstream religions of the world [Judaism, Catholicism (specifically), Christianity (generally), Taoism, Buddhism, etc.) need to remember that Islam is not just about social change but religious dominance. The Indian culture is a spiritual melting pot and welcoming of Jewish and Christian visitors to their country, but they have their own interests at heart as well by keeping the US and Israel close to their vest. With a subcontinent of over 1 billion people, they’d have a real mess on their hands if folks like the Taliban tried to stake down in the northern reaches.

Difference between Israel's situation and India's situation is Israel needs US for survival no matter how bad US treats Israel. India doesn't “need” US for survival the way Israel does. India only needs US to move away from Pakistan and China.
