The House ethics committee released its formal charges against Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) on Monday, accusing her of three counts of violating the letter and spirit of House rules and federal regulations by assisting a bank in which her husband owned stock.
The 10-page "Statement of Alleged Violation" focuses on the actions of Waters and Mikael Moore, who is the congresswoman's chief of staff and her grandson, and tracks very closely with the year-old findings of the independent Office of Congressional Ethics.
Waters is accused of improperly intervening on behalf of OneUnited, a minority-owned bank in which her husband held stock worth roughly $350,000. The federal government's Sept. 7, 2008, takeover of mortgage-lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac threatened to sink the bank, which was heavily invested in the twin titans of the secondary home-mortgage market.
Waters has denied any wrongdoing and notes her decades of work on behalf of minority-owned businesses. As the highest-ranking black lawmaker on either the House or Senate banking committees, Waters is a natural recipient of requests for help.
But the ethics committee insists she should have stayed away from the matter entirely, given her husband's stake in the company.

I seem to recall that either Diane Feinstein or Nancy Pelosi’s husband also benefited with some government contracts. What happened about that? Does anyone know?
You are right. Especially about Feinstein. I don’t remember the details either, but it was totally ignored by the lame stream media and the “watchdogs” in Congress. I do remember at the time I thought she should have been kicked out of the Senate, if not in jail.
And if Piglosi’s crimes were delved into it would probably blow your mind. Starting with the queen demanding her own private 757 to fly back and forth. “So the b1tch wouldn’t have to waste her valuable time refueling”.
And God only knows what else the MSM has been covering up for this waste of oxygen.
So when do they censure her and the BCC screams racism and nothing changes?

I think it was the guy from Red-eye on Fox that said that old Maxine is like the crazy lady on the bus...everyone just tries not to make eye contact. And THIS is what is running the government. Wow.

Pelosi got companies located in Samoa tax exemption so her husband’s tuna canning factories there wouldn’t have to pay tax.
I second the notion.
I thought the story was that when they passed the last minimum pay act, she got the overseas tuna company employees exempted.
