SANTA ANA, Calif. -- A man accused of torturing and killing his daughter kept her body in a freezer for two years because he loved her and couldn't bear to be parted, a defense attorney told jurors Monday.

The extract is enough. I do not have the stomach to read the entire article.
Yeah, it’s a head shaker.
Steel pole + impalement + public square = justice
I favor giving him a trip to Hawaii, and drop him in the nearest erupting volcano.
Trial liars...one of the Democrats' preferred classes.
Yuck... I am very sorry I did....
Sea World is closer. Sharks need to be fed. Win win.
Why don’t barracudas bite attorneys when they go swimming in the ocean?
A judge needs to smack down this ambulance chaser pronto.
I'm going to take a wild guess here and theorize that the lawyer may have advised his client to plead guilty due to insanity. The client probably doesn't want to enter such a plea, and hopes his story of "finding" her will sway the jury. You and I know that if after a couple of years an autopsy can still determine she was alive when she was put in the freezer that it won't sit well with the jury. If she was dead already, there might be a chance for him. But, if she was alive when he put her in the freezer, then there goes any chance to convince the jury that he loved her and couldn't part with her. The jurors are going to ask a very simple question - If she was alive when he found her, why didn't he get her some medical aid?
And lawyers wonder why they’re as deeply despised as they are today.
Since this was California, the writer did not even have to add the standard caveat: NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!
“A lawyer needs to mount some kind of defense”
This is probably the best defense they could come up with. The man had a history of domestic abuse against the daughter, tortured her and left her to die in a freezer. I am going to assume that no plea deal was offered?
Dead girl in freezer = BAD no matter how you slice it.
