Yes .. wouldn’t we all like to know what
meetings/envelopes/conversations/threats/
assurances were exchange Marbella ... and
the REAL purpose of that frivolous, sudden
trip.

Is it some kind of legal rule that if the
main defendant doesn’t testify, no other
witnesses can ?? Or were they too scared of
how it would impact Blago for the jury to
hear Jesse’s testimony?

I don’t understand, ‘cept for a chicagoswamp
deal, why they didn’t call Jesse and the
other thugs.

Blago Lawyers Hold Court, Say Waiting is Tough
By DANIEL LIBIT
August 10, 2010

Leave it to Rod Blagojevich’s father-son legal team to break the silence.

###

With the jury maintaining its quiet now 10 days into deliberations, Sam Adam Jr. and Sam Adam Sr. heeded the media’s wishes to say something–anything–by holding court in the lobby of the Dirksen Federal Building Tuesday morning.

The lawyer for co-defendant Robert Blagojevich, meanwhile, said he wished that U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. had been called to the stand. Jackson had been expected to testify about his on-again, off-again dalliances with the Blagoevich brothers as Rod Blagojevich contemplated whom to appoint to fill the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by President Obama.

All the lawyers were reluctant to reach any conclusions about the length of the deliberations, but the father-son Adams team did give a glimpse into how they’re handling the suspense while dealing with their high-profile client.

We’ve been doing this about 10 days, or 11 days, and in those 10 days I have had about a million thoughts,” said Adam Jr.

Adam Sr. said he calls Blagojevich twice a day to check in on him and answer any questions his client might have. The veteran defense lawyer said the Blagojevich clan is hanging tight and praying nightly, but that it has been particularly difficult for the ex-governor’s two young daughters.

“It was a difficult thing for those kids to go through,” said Adam Sr. “The TV cameras are out there today, at the house now. Rod told me that a TV camera is outside all the time. And it is hard for a little girl like Amy, who is a very sensitive child, as well as Annie, it is a hard thing for them to get used to. They are doing it. They are just surviving.”

Adam Jr. continued to bat down questions about whether it was wise for Blagojevich not to take the stand.

“In life you had two roads you can pick and once you pick you it you stick with it,” Adam Jr. said.

The attorneys both appeared frazzled and exhausted, and said they have been wracked with anxiety.

“I’ll tell you what the worst part is,” said Adam Sr., “the worst part is when you go to sleep at night and you have no difficulty going to sleep, and you sleep for about two hours and after two hours and two and a half hours it is very difficulty getting back to sleep.”

Asked how he has prepared his client for a possible guilty verdict, Adam Jr. said, “I don’t know who is going to be more of a basket case, him or me. Nobody is prepared.”

Wrapping up his remarks, he continued, “I’m going to go back to the office and stare at my wall. That is all I can do.”

Earlier in the morning, defense teams for both Blagojevich brothers were on hand for a status hearing in Judge James Zagel’s courtroom.

“It’s my practice with longer jury deliberations to occasionally call counsel to court, probably unnecessarily,” said Zagel. There were no jury notes or other developments that more typically lead to such conferences.

In response to a reporter’s question after the hearing, Robert Blagojevich’s attorney, Michael Ettinger, expressed regret that Jackson Jr. had not taken the witness stand.

I don’t understand, ‘cept for a chicagoswamp deal, why they didn’t call Jesse and the other thugs.

JJJ is going to be charged...If he had been questioned he would have either had to plead the fifth, lie (Perjury charge), or face the wrath of the system. There was some speculation the JJJ was wearing a wire....Sure wouldn't want that exposed if someone is is/was the target and is still being recorded.

My gut feelings that there is bigger fish and bigger crime that they are going after.

Don't believe that jj and jjj are really at odds with each other over OB. But more than likely that JJ didn't know JJJ position as nark and was on the verge of blowing his cover...That in my mind would make more sense.

SO my next thought is when will the DIVORCE take place? Shall we start an office pool?

Revko was found guilty but has not been sentenced YET....Waiting till after the testimony against ??? It's not BLANK-O

If BLank-O is found guilty...expect the same....(Also will cooperate to save Patti and for the sake of his children.

JJJ They have the goods on both he and Sandi....He'll (they;ll) cooperated for the sake of children.

SO ...Which big fish are they turning on....Daley & Company? or BO and Company?

IMO they could have Daley any day of the week without the above testifying.....

True justice takes time.....tic tic tic

Thanks STARWISE. This “trial” was a foregone conclusion. Pay to play, baby, that’s where it’s at.
