The White House today confirmed what many islanders have been anticipating for weeks: The first family will return to Martha's Vineyard for vacation next month.
President Obama and his family are scheduled to vacation on the island from Aug. 19 to Aug. 29.

I read a blog this morning that Obama dismissed Perry’s letter.
the question is, does it cost the taxpayers MORE in the long run for him to stay in the WH and “work?”

real, I didn’t think this through. You are probably right. We should be supporting permanent vacation time for him and his whole family. I hear Caracas is nice this time of year.
Maybe there is a package deal and they could take Nancy and Harry with them.
While Obama was only a thousand-aire prior to the Senate, he came out of the Senate a multi-millionaire with a worth, iirc, of about 5 million bucks. This was all from book sales, the current means of channeling big cash to the candidate of your choice.
That said, Obama and his vacation fetish indicates to me that he clearly is trying to lose the House so he can shift the finger of blame away from himself in the 2012 election.
As it stands, the Dems have had both the House and Senate for at least 6 years now, and NOTHING financial happens under our Constitution that doesn’t originate in Congress. The Dems are responsible for the recession, but the media has for years propagandized the public to believe that the economy lies at the President’s feet.
The Bush recession wasn’t.
WE are glad they are not coming to the Gulf Coast, won’t do anything but stoop over and pinch some sand in the fingers.
AND, I use to take one vacation a year, they take a vacation a month.

I’ve read it here, he may not be interested in a second term, merely rushing his changes through. That being said, 10 days in Martha’s Vineyard? I guess taking a tour group to Spain and getting your justice selected can be exhausting work. Lib talking heads might be aghast, but the MSM will hold their tongues. Cue the MSM silence and/or praise and defense of the First family’s newest retreat.

You are right! Pres. Bush stayed at his ranch which he had built and paid for himself. It had all the equipment of the Oval Office, so he was working while there. In addition, his ranch was built to make use of every possible energy savings, so he even had a very low energy footprint while at his ranch.
I read he was staying at the redneck riviera for ONE day.

Michael Antoinette and Obamessiah the Sun King remind me of the Mayan King and Queen in Apocalupto who exalted themselves high and lifted up above everyone on their sacrificial temple (where OTHERS were SACRIFICED for THEIR BENEFIT and for THEIR BLOOD-LUST and ENJOYMENT in order to perpetuate THEIR POLITICAL SCAM and SCHEME designed TO KEEP THEMSELVES AND THEIR PEOPLE IN POWER). This "king and queen", like Obama and Michael had nothing but total disdain and disgust for those they "lorded it over. History tells us what became of the Myans and their self-glorified leaders eventually God destroyed them.
As for modern, nonfiction, real-life individuals; many have compared Obama and Michael to Nicolae & Elena Ceaucescu. Like Obama and his wife, they also exhibited the same narcissistic personality traits and attitudes toward the office of President and their people and just like the liberal State-run American press and media here in America; the Romanian State-run media also slavishly GLORIFIED and DEIFIED them and propped them up, all the while excusing or hiding their out of control, extravagant, life style excesses from their citizens as well.
As everyone who has studied history knows; it did not ultimately turn out well for them in the end. Whether in this life or the next God, yes the true and living God, holds all men and women (Including President and Mrs. Obama) accountable. He places all men and women into positions of leadership and authority and He has the power to judge or remove them from office should they habitually reject Him, rebell against His establised order and abuse the office and positions He has so graciously granted them.
