JERUSALEM — Israeli officials said Monday that the U.S. is pressing Israel to scrap a contentious east Jerusalem building project whose approval has touched off the most serious diplomatic feud with Washington in years.
Competing Israeli and Palestinian claims to east Jerusalem were feeding tensions in the holy city, where Arabs and Jews maintain an uneasy coexistence and sometimes clash. Police were out in large numbers in the volatile Old City in expectation of renewed clashes.
Top U.S. officials have lined up in recent days to condemn the Israeli plan to build 1,600 apartments in east Jerusalem, the sector of the holy city that the Palestinians claim for their future capital.

Now we hear that there is a right for Islam to build a Mosque in New York.
I think he should be called out on this.
Maybe if these were synagogues being built in East Jerusalem? Then he would say that it's all right.
I would like to suggest that if they do get the go ahead to build the Mosque. They should designate that for equal representation that a Jewish Synagogue be built directly EAST of the Mosque (right next door).

Liberals never get called out on hypocrisy or inconsistencies or lack of intellectual honest in their positions.
Can’t wait to see how the MSM covers for Obama on the mosque issue and him saying that he didn’t mean to endorse it, just saying we all have freedom of religion, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Since the liberal view is that the mosque should be built, how will the liberals handle him backing away from his endorsement of that?
