Right Wing Bloggers Choose '25 Worst Figures In American History'

The blog Right Wing News asked "more than a hundred bloggers" who they thought were the worst people in American history. The results may shock you! Or maybe not. Jane Fonda makes the cut, along with FDR. Let's look.

This question was put out to over 100 crazies with internet connections:

Out of all the gangsters, serial killers, mass murderers, incompetent & crooked politicians, spies, traitors, and ultra left-wing kooks in all of American history — have you ever wondered who the worst of the worst was?"

Some of the answers are a given, but some (Richard Nixon?!) are a little surprising considering who did the voting. And some are actually pretty good (Michael Moore, Timothy McVeigh). Those questioned were asked to rank as many as 20 people from America's past and present who they felt fit the bill. Here are the results, from 43 bloggers who responded:

23) Saul Alinsky (7)
23) Bill Clinton (7)
23) Hillary Clinton (7)
19) Michael Moore (7)
19) George Soros (8)
19) Alger Hiss (8)
19) Al Sharpton (8)
13) Al Gore (9)
13) Noam Chomsky (9)
13) Richard Nixon (9)
13) Jane Fonda (9)
13) Harry Reid (9)
13) Nancy Pelosi (9)
11) John Wilkes Booth (10)
11) Margaret Sanger (10)
9) Aldrich Ames (11)
9) Timothy McVeigh (11)
7) Ted Kennedy (14)
7) Lyndon Johnson (14)
5) Benedict Arnold (17)
5) Woodrow Wilson (17)
4) The Rosenbergs (19)
3) Franklin Delano Roosevelt (21)
2) Barack Obama (23)
1) Jimmy Carter (25)

One surprising omission is John Hinckley, Jr., the man who shot The Greatest Conservative of All Time, Ronald Reagan. Any others? Keith Olbermann, perhaps?

I might add figures like the Smothers Brothers and Norman Lear. Not because they are necessarily evil but in their own way they changed the media and popular culture. They made it the norm for “entertainment” media to become very political and try to shape the public attitudes. I am not saying sitcoms and other TV shows had to remain totally vanilla and family oriented. But the left wing stuff they have peddled for decades now has no doubt demonized conservatism and made it that much easier for Dems to win elections. This gives them such a built in advantage that the right has to fight that much harder.

Where’s Obama?

Masters and Johnson should be on the list too.

Not if you’re a Mets fan

So you knew Mom? She would have added Lee Mazzilli, who seems to have had a penchant for striking out with 2 out, and the bases loaded, always just when the Mets had a shot in the bottom of the 9th.

Had it not been for these continual bitter disappointments at Mazilli's hands, ("...no DiMaggio, that one..." she would say), she would have made it well past 96.

I’d add Alfred Kinsey to that list and Alexander Hamilton.

Had it not been for Hamilton, the American Revolution very likely could have devolved into a French Revolution.

I’m suprised Barry Bonds didn’t make it too.

I disagree with many on that list...not because they aren't bad actors but because there are some who have done much more harm to the nation. For example:

Barney Frank/Chris Dodd - for their combined work in trashing the US economy

Supreme Court Justices: Warren, Black and Burger for their elevating the supreme court above the constitution

Huey P. Long

Nathan Bedford Forrest & William J. Simmons - KKK

I do agree with Wilson and FDR on this list...the damage they've done to this nation is immeasurable.

John Dewey. He’s the father of progressive education and responsible for a lot of the leftist garbage now taught in schools.

I would have replaced that bag of lard Michael Moore with Chris Dodd or Barney Fag.
The former is just a loud mouth. The latter has actually damaged this country to the point of economic collapse.

What to know why your taxdollars are bailing out Fannie and Freddie for making mortgages out on 500K homes to people who shovel fries at Micky D’s?

Dodd and Frank.

Nathan Bedford Forrest & William J. Simmons - KKK

Wheres Malcolm X on your list? Wouldn't you say the Black Panthers were and are just as racist as the KKK?

thanks Libloather.

Keith Olbermann is a pussy wannabee.

Hinckley is a mere footnote, just barely differentiated particle in history’s bedpan.

It’s great that John Wilkes Booth is on that list.

In place of Nixon, I’d put Newt Gingrich for cornholing all of us after the Contract With America gave us back our Congress. Nixon managed to be one of our best Presidents despite his personal flaws and his hiring of Pat Buchanan.

Some (most?) of these names won’t even register in a couple of years. But this is a good snapshot.

23) Saul Alinsky (7)
23) Bill Clinton (7)
23) Hillary Clinton (7)
19) Michael Moore (7)
19) George Soros (8)
19) Alger Hiss (8)
19) Al Sharpton (8)
13) Al Gore (9)
13) Noam Chomsky (9)
13) Richard Nixon (9)
13) Jane Fonda (9)
13) Harry Reid (9)
13) Nancy Pelosi (9)
11) John Wilkes Booth (10)
11) Margaret Sanger (10)
9) Aldrich Ames (11)
9) Timothy McVeigh (11)
7) Ted Kennedy (14)
7) Lyndon Johnson (14)
5) Benedict Arnold (17)
5) Woodrow Wilson (17)
4) The Rosenbergs (19)
3) Franklin Delano Roosevelt (21)
2) Barack Obama (23)
1) Jimmy Carter (25)

I didn't post an exhaustive list, just a few additions/changes. Yes, that would be fine...or maybe Farrakhan, but the KKK has been far more destructive than the black panthers over their respective histories...not to suggest either is good.

My biggest surprise was that no one was listing the various supreme court justices that have discarded the constitution they were sworn to uphold.

Add Mitt Romney, the most successful hardcore leftwing Governor in the history of the republic. He has no peer. Instituted gay marriage, passed socialized medicine complete with $50 co-pay abortions, banned all guns that look scary, completely homosexualized the public schools and state government. And he did it all in one four year term.
