Right Wing Bloggers Choose '25 Worst Figures In American History'

The blog Right Wing News asked "more than a hundred bloggers" who they thought were the worst people in American history. The results may shock you! Or maybe not. Jane Fonda makes the cut, along with FDR. Let's look.

This question was put out to over 100 crazies with internet connections:

Out of all the gangsters, serial killers, mass murderers, incompetent & crooked politicians, spies, traitors, and ultra left-wing kooks in all of American history — have you ever wondered who the worst of the worst was?"

Some of the answers are a given, but some (Richard Nixon?!) are a little surprising considering who did the voting. And some are actually pretty good (Michael Moore, Timothy McVeigh). Those questioned were asked to rank as many as 20 people from America's past and present who they felt fit the bill. Here are the results, from 43 bloggers who responded:

23) Saul Alinsky (7)
23) Bill Clinton (7)
23) Hillary Clinton (7)
19) Michael Moore (7)
19) George Soros (8)
19) Alger Hiss (8)
19) Al Sharpton (8)
13) Al Gore (9)
13) Noam Chomsky (9)
13) Richard Nixon (9)
13) Jane Fonda (9)
13) Harry Reid (9)
13) Nancy Pelosi (9)
11) John Wilkes Booth (10)
11) Margaret Sanger (10)
9) Aldrich Ames (11)
9) Timothy McVeigh (11)
7) Ted Kennedy (14)
7) Lyndon Johnson (14)
5) Benedict Arnold (17)
5) Woodrow Wilson (17)
4) The Rosenbergs (19)
3) Franklin Delano Roosevelt (21)
2) Barack Obama (23)
1) Jimmy Carter (25)

One surprising omission is John Hinckley, Jr., the man who shot The Greatest Conservative of All Time, Ronald Reagan. Any others? Keith Olbermann, perhaps?

Time will tell. Given that we're on the cusp of rebellion I have trouble even thinking of him as a villain.

No list like this could be complete without W.E.B. Du Bois, either.

Perhaps more significantly, Clinton and his colleagues gave the Chi-Coms targeting ability. Before that they would have been lucky to hit a state they were aiming at. Now they can put one through your window. Thanks a lot Billy Jeff...

At the end of Obama’s 4 years he will top this list by a mile.

Of the three I listed Chomsky is without a doubt the worst and exactly for the reason you stated but if you wanted to list a lefty who has had a horrible and lasting influence on our education system from top to bottom I would agree with the poster who mentioned John Dewey.

Before that [the Chinese missileers] would have been lucky to hit a state they were aiming at. Now they can put one through your window. Thanks a lot Billy Jeff...

Not that they'd need to, with an enhanced-radiation weapon like the W-88.

But now they can erase white San Francisco and Oakland without killing a single Han Chinese in Chinatown or Berkeley. Which I think they would try to do, they're racist enough and forward-looking enough (to Chinese colonization, and eventual absorption, of North America).

What about Roger Brooke Taney - Chief Justice of the United States from 1836 to 1864?

Taney's opinion in Dred Scott (not the actual title) was not outside the contemporary understanding of society and the law, in 1855. He spent a great deal of effort on the case and (I think) tried to render a good opinion consistent with the law and the Constitution, particularly the now-amended Article IV Section 2 on bondage and labor.

One could have wished American history had been different, but I don't think you can fault Taney for playing his cards as they were dealt.

On the other hand, he did help Andrew Jackson slap down Nicholas Biddle and his Bank of the United States, which was Biddle's attempt to set himself up as a freebooter Fed. (The Fed today freeboots enough -- I know, I've paid the cost personally and in large coin -- so you can imagine what it would have been like under Biddle: huge, corrupt, tyrannical, and very Yankee.)

Obama is a much worse person than FDR but he will do nowhere near as much damage to the nation.

Jefferson Davis did more harm than Tim McVeigh.

Yeah, right. That’s why he instituted $50 co-pay abortions a couple of years after his pro-life “conversion.” And why his stated public position still isn’t pro-life. He thinks it sounds like it is, but it isn’t.

Have you seen Tommy lately?
Still funny, but a way wacko lefty.

He was on “The Green Room” (Showtime) and started spouting lefty nonsenses about Glenn Beck and bagging on Penn Jileltte for appearing on Beck’s show. Jillette can hold his own with ANYBODY, so it was hilarious to watch Tommy try.

Tommy is talented, but he’s just another crazed lefty.

This list is entirely too short.

Some of the real villains are the nameless directors of left-wing Foundations, such as the Tides Foundation and the Ford Foundation who have funded the attack on our culture through multiculturalism and abortion.

I agree, Nixon had the balls to take on the eastern establishment and they crucified him for it with water gate. IMHO number one on that list now and for all time should be Lyndon Johnson. His damn great society paved the way for the destruction of the America we knew and loved. He should have been castrated with a spoon.
