Mark Levin Slams Chris Christie on 9/11 Mosque
Mark Levin ^ | 08/16/2010

Posted on 08/16/2010 7:01:35 PM PDT by Brices Crossroads

Mark Levin today slammed NJ Governor Chris Christie for his sanctimonious attitude that the controversy over the Mosque at ground Zero is "just politics" and "is being used as a political football by BOTH parties!" He says that this attempt By Christie to make the two positions on the mosque (pro and con) equivalent is nothing more than a naked effort to portray himself as "above it all" and look down his nose (so to speak) at those who have the courage to oppose this thing (most prominently former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin--although Levin does not mention her by name).

Levin praised the courage of those who have stood up to Obama and Bloomberg and opposed this mosque. The "Great One" said that Christie was "dead wrong" to link the opposition to the mosque to intolerance.

Quote: "Just becasue you clobber public sector unions and cut your state's budget does not necessarily mean you are Presidential material." Levin also says he is concerned about Christie's immigration positions.

He tells Christie to: "get serious and take a position" rather than being afraid to "get your hands dirty" by taking a position. The clip is only 2:45 and is worthwhile to listen to.

After having to endure the ugliness and evil emanating from the White House, Sarah Palin is like a gush of fresh air. She offers hope, true hope and she ain't afraid of the perverted man in the White House and his revolutionary “wife.”

I’m glad to be here, too, onyx. It’s good to be in the company of like minded people. And for the opportunity to “tweak the twits” in OUR White House. And to crush them.

“Mr. Christie, you will not be allowed to vote present on this, and neither will anyone else.”

He didn’t just vote present - he also called you and me and anyone else that’s taken a position useful idiots of our parties.

Chris Christie is not the conservative the RINOs made him out to be. First is was endorsing Illegal Alien Amnesty....now its pandering to Muslims.

Good for Levin to step up and call out Christie. Wonder if the other talkers will do the same

It’s tempting to look at Obama’s actions as trying to create division, but I think that’s giving him too much credit. He has his Marxist agenda, but beyond that his decisions have proven to be wrong time and again. You could attribute it to inexperience, bad advisers, or lack of a real education in the American experience. He doesn’t want to alienate voters, he just doesn’t know how not to. His beliefs and values are out of sync with non-Marxists and he relies on those beliefs to make decisions. Making decisions is hard for Obama. He is slow in making them and always tries to hedge his bets.

Here’s what he could have said- Muslims, members of your faith declared war on America and attacked our country on 9/11. These attacks were made in the name of Islam. Muslim communities either erupted into celebration of the attack, or had to be restrained by their governments from showing too much approval. Over 3000 people were killed in the attacks on our country. The people who planned these attacks were given refuge by other Muslims. Nearly ten years later, these men are still being hidden from justice. The Koran says that these men should be punished for killing innocent people including other Muslims. We consider that the state of war declared by the attackers still exists and will continue to exist until Muslims surrender the planners of the 9-11 attacks and cease all attacks on Western Civilization.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans lost friends or relatives in those attacks. Millions of people worldwide were affected by them. Construction of a mosque on property that was damaged in the attack at the World Trade Center will not heal the wounds caused. There is unfinished business that must be taken care of, the surrender of the attackers and the halting of hostility against the United States. Until that occurs, we remain at war.

This is the problem with the “fiscal, conservative; social liberal crowd” Your long term fiscal situation is a manifestation of the moral/social order. Class warfare, pervasive drug abuse, high taxes and lack of accountability in government spending are signs of go along pubbies. Allowing a mosque at ground zero is going to drive up NYC security costs and drive out business.

Isn't this just typical of what happens on our side.

Christie has done a hellava good job since coming into office, gaining support and recognition.

And right on cue he does something or says something totally out of sync with not only conservatives and moderates, but also a bunch of democrats in this case, 70-30 oppose the damn thing.

It should be expected that any leading Republican will continue this pattern.

Because it is about our sworn enemies... islam... building a shrine named after a captured Spanish Christian Cathedral that was renamed Cordoba and this mosque being built near where 3000 Americans were killed by these animals. This will be their shrine to their satanic martyrs and their satanic god and it is being named in honor of their Spanish conquest from long ago. The immam that heads this den of evil is a terrorist and supports terrorism and is a radical jihadist that wants sharia law to rule in America.

Muslims want to build this mosque to rub it in America's face.

The goal of Islam is world domination and not just murder but genocide after the world is conquered:

“Christie is more right than Levin. The Muslims have a right to build a mosque ANYWHERE as long as there is a willing seller and no contracts are violated.”

Not if this is a national historical site, which Congress could make it. Or if the local zoning boeard decides not to permit it.

You probably think it is OK to put up the Rising Sun within a block of the graveyard of the Arizona in Pearl Harbor. How about flying the swastika over Arlington? Maybe right next to the graves of the men murdered at Malmedy? As long as teh flags are on private property. Let’s not tinker with property rights. /sarc/

That is where you Libertarians lose me. Patriotism is not your strong suit.

“Those who want to destroy their property rights are only creating a precedent for big brother to do the same to them.”

It isn’t doing anything of the kind. They can build the mosque in a hundred thousand other locations. Is someone losing a property right if they can’t build a porn theatre across from St. Patrick’s cathedral in NY? Yes. Does it threatened everyone’s property rights? Only in the blinkered imagination of the libertarian theoretician.

“Property rights and free speech don’t extend to those whose well-known and oft-stated goal is the destruction of our nation, its people, and the crushing of liberty.”

Well said. Very well said indeed.
