This recession was caused by a financial crisis fueled by bad debt like the Great Depression, unlike the minor recessions since World War II. Financial crises are different animals. We're screwed with these knuckleheads in the White House trying Keynesian stimuli. We're just piling up debt. With all of our deficit financing, we we're should never go into any recession if Keynesian stimuli worked.

This recession is desired by Obama and company. They want to prolong it and make it worse.

As a fast growing small biz owner I can tell you with absolute certainty that the current admin has guaranteed we will not hire a single person till this admin is gone and this threat of socialism in both parties dissapears.

I will spend 100’s of thousands on automation before I will gamble on what the government decides employees will cost.

Obama has managed to to remove any certainty from the economy.

For example:

Nobody knows what will result from the healthcare legislation.
Nobody knows what will result from the financial reform legislation.
Nobody knows what is coming next.

Obama could cut taxes in half next week and this economy will not move forward until the people have confidence in what the future holds.

As a fast growing small biz owner I can tell you with absolute certainty that the current admin has guaranteed we will not hire a single person till this admin is gone and this threat of socialism in both parties disappears.

Please shout that a thousand times.

"Small," however defined, and growing businesses are the very heart of confidence and innovation and enterprise. And most profoundly, with the communication technology of today, "small" business can compete with and obliterate "big" business, in the technical realm. But not in the political/lobbyist realm. So that when you say "socialism in both parties" that is exactly relevant. It is both parties. It is powerful secretive DC lobbying for protection and influence.

The future is in the dynamism of "small and growing" business, and when uncertain Leftist agenda's are lorded over the potential entrepreneurs the entire future of the "economy" is sold down the river. We are ardent conservatives, but in no way does that mean we do not realize that much of "Big Business" is every bit as fascist/socialist as the current federal government.

There are many examples, for instance how many "Big Businesses supported the Healthcare takeover, so that they are free of the burden. Or how many "Big Businesses" threatened for bailout or the "economy" would collapse?

Conservatism is the exercise of personal responsibility by each and every citizen, eliminating the tragedy of centralized authoritarian whim and dependence. How many people would we hire if they took care of their own healthcare, savings, retirement, family, transportation, etc?

With modern communication we each have access to the options, and the many nascent possibilities, and we each should assume responsibility for such. Looked at like this, what Leftism is, as the tagline below declares, becomes real real obvious.

Oh, for crying out loud. This recession is different because after the “fake” jobs disappeared...those sustained by the overinflated housing market....the game of musical chairs stopped. After a decade or more of this stupidity, we are FINALLY seeing the actual results of moving millions of jobs out of this country.

Anyone with a brain, and without an agenda could clearly see the end result. But the silly fools (mostly on our side by the way) who pushed the “service economy” BS had the bullhorn and convinced the masses that we were going to live high on the hog with clean hands in some sort of economic utopia.

We need to create jobs that produce wealth. With our current crop of, ahem, “representatives” who are bought and paid for by the people who benefit most from living in this new economic global “utopia”...good luck with that!

I agree that it was caused by “bad debt.” But ask yourself why they would have allowed such a thing to go on? They were buying time while they completely stripped the economy to the bones...couldn’t have the peasants getting restless, now could we? I do think that the thing crashed well before they were completely finished with their goals (hence the shocked and panic that ensued) so we may still have hope. I believe that they have gotten a clue that the American people will “not go gentle into that good night.”

That's exactly right.

And it will take more than regime change to end that. For example, if we were to suddenly get Sarah Palin as POTUS, people would still be as unsure, if not more so.

You're not alone. In fact, it's very clear that one of these things doesn't belong...

Anyone who doubts this should read Under the Axe of Fascism by Gaetano Salvemini. Originally published in 1936, it makes it quite clear that Big Business is at the core of fascist economic policy. The parallels to Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama policy are dramatic.

The president is losing the support of even his most ardent supporters. Arianna Huffington, for example, said recently, "The president put all his trust in the wrong economic team -- an economic team that didn't understand what was happening."

What do you mean Arianna?? They are all marxists. Including Obama. What the h*ll did you expect!

Must be.

On election night Michel Moore was saying capitalism was dead. They are trying to kill it. Now the economy is in the tank and they are wondering what happened.
