Obama, the one-term president
Politico ^ | 8/17/10 | Roger Simon

Posted on 08/17/2010 5:06:35 AM PDT by Daisyjane69

Honest to goodness, the man just does not get it. He might be forced to pull a Palin and resign before his first term is over. He could go off and write his memoirs and build his presidential library. (Both would be half-size, of course.)

I am not saying Obama is not smart; he is as smart as a whip. I am just saying he does not understand what savvy first-term presidents need to understand:

You have to stay on message, follow the polls, listen to your advisers (who are writing the message and taking the polls) and realize that when it comes to doing what is right versus doing what is expedient, you do what is expedient so that you can get reelected and do what is right in the second term. If at all possible. And it will help your legacy. And not endanger the election of others in your party. And not hurt the brand. Or upset people too much.

He's not smart. He's stupid. Obama doesn't understand the psyche of the people he thinks he leads.

This is exactly the reason why he has a "shadow president" like Palin.

from the article - “The problem for Obama is that he appears to have taken seriously all the “change” stuff he promised during his campaign. And he has been unable to make the transition from candidate to president.”

IOW, he believes his own BS. What a narcissistic turd.

Let’s see, the message I got out of this was Obama is too pure for us. He’s too good for us and we are not worthy of his leadership. He’ll be a one term President because we are just not ready for the truth!

I think he knows exactly what he’s doing. He is the puppet for the puppetmaster Soros. I hate to think of what he will do if he is cornered. I think the open borders have allowed his hamas army to infiltrate our country.

The only way I can use both the words "President" and "Obammer" in the same sentence is to say that I am unable to use the words "President" and "Obammer" in a sentence!

If I were to use the words "President" and "Obammer" in a single sentence, I'm sure I'd throw up a little bit in my throat!

What a waste of air this clown is.

Politico just can’t bring themselves to see the reality of Obama.

Why do people always say he is smart? What evidence is there that he is smart? What is that based on? I would guess his intelligence is not above average.

How could someone who has never worked a day in his life, has been exposed to radicals all his life, is not really sure who his father was, cannot be sure where he was born, is on any given day either Christian or muslim have any clue as to what it’s like to be an average American Citizen?

His ego is way too big to fathom his lack of understanding and care. He has no loyalty to anyone but himself.

This article doesn’t hit hard at all. Simon is handling Soetero with kid gloves. The comment Barry made was not morally or ethically right in any way whatsover in the context of Islam, the religion of hate.

He’s not stupid, nor is he that bright; he may just want to be a martyr and if anything he probably thought he would be by now. So he keeps poking, provoking, and okiedoking...

Roger Simon proves that he is the worst of the worst when it comes to integrity and morals. Don't do what you believe is right, do what you believe is expedient.

But what Roger fails to understand is that people, even people who disagree with the President, would respect him more if he did stick to principles.

He doesn't. He says one thing to one group, another thing to the next group, and when caught tries to weasel out of it.

Obama is worst than Carter. He is closing in on Buchanan. His wishy-washy lack of core values is inflaming both sides of the liberal-conservative axis and is leading to a more charged political situation than when he was first elected.

Lincoln's strong stand against slavery was not what brought us to the Civil War, it was Buchanan's equivocation that brought both sides of the issue to a burning hot anger with each other and when one side had “their guy” win, the other side decided that they had had enough.

“he is as smart as a whip”

He is????? 57 states . . . Austrian in a language . . . hidden transcript of grades . . . hundreds of “um uhs” in all his speeches . . . teleprompters all over because he can’t remember lines . . . (I could go on).

Smart? Where’s the proof? Huh?

I don’t know about Soros but he is certainly controlled by Lenin, Marx, Alinsky. He will find ways to use the federal government and our treasury (that is our nation’s credit card) to stay in office. He isn’t done wrecking our nation.

Simon is very clever. This is a puff piece with tongue in cheek about how courageous and smart Obama is. It is really satire and certainly not critical of Obama who Simon portrays as a principled person who refuses to compromise his beliefs to satisfy his political handlers. This is just more JournoLista stuff from Politico.

This snarky Roger Simon article is actually praising Obama for being so smart and right... But, of course, Simon is stupid and misinformed. “Maybe Obama is disconnected. After all, as a former professor of constitutional law, he actually knows what the Constitution says.” Sorry, Roger: he was NOT a Professor of Constitutional Law, he was a lecturer — there’s a big difference. And I seriously doubt he actually knows what the Constitution says.

I agree he isn’t as smart as these idiots keep claiming. But he is COMMITTED-—he isn’t stupid ideologically. He knows he’s pushing a hated agenda, but is focused enough to keep going in a giant suicide charge because, in the end, most of his agenda will be in place and someone will have to be even MORE committed to undo it.

Can you imagine the outrage if Bush had wanted to build his Presidential Library at the WTC site?

You're spot-on there. Mr. Simon spells out quite clearly what is wrong with career politicians -- they can rationalize this sort of behaviour in terms that make them believe it's the RIGHT thing to do: don't do what's right straight on, do what's expedient so later one can do what's right.
