“In the course of that report, I made the statement that a lot of the birthers are bigots and racists and there was a picture of Lakin behind me. I didn’t mean to suggest that he was a bigot and a racist. I was just talking more generally.”
-Jeffrey Toobin, CNN Legal Analyst
Generally speaking, this is not much of a retraction. How about ... ‘I said birthers are racist, bigots and I was wrong. I shouldn’t have said that.’

What’s the deal with this anyway? They think by saying “sorry”, they’ll be able to sell more “Watch it Grow!” weenier pill commercials?
CNN slings crap everywhere—when did this matter to them?
The WND article mentions two different cases in which sanctions were threatened against attorneys pursuing this issue -- and which the judges backed off when the attorney threatened to require discovery of "pertinent facts" (apparently there is precedent).
My question is: why hasn't Orly Taitz pursued this particular avenue when she was slapped with sanctions? Yes, I can anticipate the usual responses, but I would think that there is someone close to her that would have suggested it by now.
Or was she sanctioned for outrageous behavior over and above simply pursuing this issue?
CNN, as a whole, is looking nervous lately. Anyone else notice? Wolf interviewed Tom Delay yesterday and was almost happy, so it seemed, that he was exonerated of the federal charges. It’s like the kid that is about to be confronted for stealing a candy bar that is still in his hand.
Any minute Rush and the rest of the conservatives talking bobbleheads will foolow the Globe’s lead and stop fearing the leftists and report this issue.
On second, none of them have the guts.
I’m sure “some” of the “birthers” ARE racists. “Some” in Holder’s DOJ are racists. “Some” in the democrat party are racists. “Some” people everywhere are racists.
Maybe their ratings dropped!
CNN, which became one of the first mainstream networks to put the absence of publicly available documentation for Barack Obama's presidential eligibility in prime time, has issued a retraction for publicly calling an officer challenging Obama's eligibility "racist." The original accusation and the retraction both came from one of the "experts" CNN offered on the case of Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, who faces a court-martial in a few weeks for refusing to deploy because the president refused to document his eligibility to be commander-in-chief.Thanks justiceseeker93.

I read his book Too Close to Call: The Thirty-Six-Day Battle to Decide the 2000 Election (2001)
Believe me, he is a lying super-liberal POS.
The book was really really slanted-
but you all knew that anyway didn’t you?
Jeffrey Toobin of CNN and The New Yorker: “What a joke. I always thought that some part of McCain doesn’t want to be president, and this choice proves my point. Welcome back, Admiral Stockdale.”
