Human Shields In A Nuclear Iran
IBD Editorials ^ | August 17, 2010 | Investors Business Daily staff

Atomic Terror: Tehran will soon have a new "defensive system" to protect its Bushehr nuclear plant — not anti-aircraft artillery, but lethal radiation that will poison innocent Iranians if the U.S. or Israel attacks.

Truer words never came from a regime for which lying is a well-honed skill: "These threats of attacks had become repetitive and lost their meaning." So said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Tuesday of the chance that military force would hit his country's nuclear program.

More disturbing, Mehmanparast pointed out that "according to international law, installations which have real fuel cannot be attacked because of the humanitarian consequences."

For years, the world has been warned that Iran is on the threshold of becoming a nuclear weapons power — in this many years or that many months. The message truly has become repetitive and lost its meaning as it rings and rings in the ears of Americans, Europeans and Israelis.

The focus has been on when the revolutionary regime established by the Ayatollah Khomeini over three decades ago would manufacture enough fuel for its first atomic bomb, and whether it could place such a device on a warhead that could be fired on a rocket able to reach Israel or Europe.

But all the while, another deadline has also loomed, which former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton raised in Tuesday interviews with Fox Business Network and Israel Radio.

Israel has only "eight days" to strike Iran's Bushehr plant, Bolton told Fox, because on Aug. 21 the Russian-provided nuclear rods will be placed into the facility — meaning that any successful attack would contaminate Iranians living in the region.

Human life is considered expendable to them anyway. It doesen’t take nuclear science to figure that out.

My 3 point plan for dealing with Islam, should you decide to elect me President.

Day 1. Nuke every Islamic city in the world.

Day 2. Nuke anyone that complains about day 1.

Day 3. We all live happily ever after.

A letter in this month’s issue of Physics Today, the newsmagazine of the American Institute of Physics, bemoans the sanctions on Iran because they impede scientific progress and cooperation in working toward peace. There was a picture of a neutron detector with a sealed lead acid battery strapped to it with packing tape. Basically, because of the sanctions, these poor physicists can’t get the right batteries for their neutron detectors. And, what are they using the detector for? The caption stated “finding landmines and other uses.” My my, I’ll bet that the “other uses” aren’t quite so benign.

> international law ???
What idiot puts his nation’s welfare in the hands of an international agency populated by those who hate his country.
A good leader does what is good for his country and to blazes with the rest of the world.

Exactly! The Iranian people are complicit in the development of nuclear plants in Iran. They can do what they can to stop it or face the consequences of their inaction.

We need to raise money to recruit all the leftwingers elsewhere in the Moslem world, and in the US, Europe, etc to join this human shield program. No reason. Thanks Kaslin.

Sounds like a plan, but we need to ship all of them who are here back first. (Detroit would be empty!)

You need a running mate who thinks of these things.

Day 4. Wallow happily in the blood, happily renowned through history as a genocidal mass murderer who puts Pol Piot, Hitler or Stalin to shame....
