SEATTLE (AFP) Two F-15 fighter jets were scrambled after a plane flew into restricted airspace near where President Barack Obama's Air Force One was parked in Seattle, US authorities said.
Air space over Seattle had been partially closed as Obama visited the west-coast city as part of a cross-country tour.
The NORAD air command said the F-15s from the Oregon Air National Guard were scrambled "in response to a Temporary Flight Restriction violation in the vicinity of Seattle."

How big was his airspace? The North end of Lake Washington is a long ways away from Boeing Field.
And the sonic boom was heard ALL OVER Puget Sound. I was out in the yard and thought something was going on at Fort Lewis or McChord. I’m used to booms coming from the bases, but this was MUCH bigger than normal, enough to make you go WTF was THAT!?

A just-announced visit to the Seattle area by President Obama will shut down Seattle airspace to most flights for approximately six hours around mid-day on Tuesday, August 17. This will prevent Kenmore Air from operating its seaplane flights from at least 10am to 4 pm. There may be delays or cancellations on Kenmore Air Express flights to and from Boeing Field as well, though we expect these impacts to be less significant.

My wife was at the Costco in Tukwila when it happened. She described it to me and I said that, as stupid as it sounds, she was describing a sonic boom. Which it was.

I loved the sonic booms when I was a kid. I love it when the Air Show is in town and we may get a few booms from the Blue Angels, that is until some libtard complains. Obamass said the sweetest sound was the muslim call to prayer....I say it is the magnificent sound of US fighter jets overhead going through their manuevers!

If the President is not actually on the aircraft, then it is just a plain old Air Force jet. If someone actually attacked the aircraft at that time, the worst thing that might happen is that 0bama might have to walk home. This might be a good thing, since he would have an opportunity - for the first time in his life - to meet real Americans.
