I am with you on that. There is nothing wrong with fried chicken, and everyone no matter what they eat needs to get some exercise. This is the nanny state intruding into people’s business in every sense of the word. Note that the KFC debacle is the result of the marketing department, not the cooking-good-food-that-people-actually-want-to-eat department. Now I will probably gross you out: My favorite way to eat good fried chicken is slathered with homemade mayonnaise. Try it, you’ll like it. Nor am I a 500 pound behemoth, or anything like it.
That happened to my husband and me once at Arby’s...except of course they had run out of roast beef. You would think they would have run to all the delis in town and bought up the roast beef. But no, they just told all their customers they were out. LOL.
What? Is that some kind of cruel torture?

I haven’t been in a KFC for years. I found Hartz. Great chicken and their buffet is excellent too.
I also like HEB, Walmart and Kroger. It just occurred to me that I eat more fried chicken than ever and none of it is KFC.
We eat a lot at Chic-Fil-A now.
Heck, they’re even CLOSED on Sundays. What a statement.

If I were to hazard a guess at the drop in business, I would look to issues like the economic downturn, competition, cleanliness of their stores, factors like those. And as I read it, the lawsuit is about who controls the advertising dollars. A bit of ‘taxation without representation’, if you will.
As has been mentioned on this thread, folks seem to like Popeyes and Bojangles food better, not because KFC has grilled chicken on their menu, but because the other outlets have better fried chicken. Something I would tend to agree with.
You’re right. I am positive you know more about this subject that the franchise owners, despite their experiences, and can only suggest you share your wisdom with them. I am sure they will be grateful and appreciative.
Oh, man, Hartz is great! I only wish there was one around where I live. My wife and I make a point of stopping at the Hartz restaurant near the BlueBell Ice Cream plant between Austin and Houston every time we pass that way. What great food ... buffet, all-you-can-eat, with deep-fried chicken livers ...
Hartz is da bomb. I did not know there was one in Brenham close to the Bluebell Ice Cream plant. A twofer!!!

Our immediate area has broad choice - Chic Fil A, KFC, Sonic and Whataburger. CFA is always jammed in spite of not being open on Sunday. Employees are friendly, efficient, well spoken and exhibit customer appreciation skills and training. KFC and Sonic rarely have anyone waiting. Whataburger tends to have a steady stream - having an American flag and “In God we Trust” motto on the window certainly helps.
Not just folks in the south. My grandma (being from good German parents) cooked potatoes for darn near every meal. Breakfast was often fried potatoes, bacon, an egg and toast. If there were no leftovers from supper the night before, she’d be cooking again for lunch. My grandpa loved battered and fried eggplant. She fried steaks, fish, ground beef and made fried chicken to just die for. The difference? My grandparents, mom and uncles worked their butts off on the farm. I learned to cook from my mom and grandma, but needless to say, we can’t eat like that ‘cause we’re not as active. But am I giving up forever fried chicken, white gravy and potatoes? No way! It’s worth walking an extra mile for.
BTW, my grandma and mom’s fried chicken ruined me for KFC.
