"On this trip, I discovered that both sides want reunification and that Korea is one, so I see hope on the Korean peninsula," Lee, who made the visit with his parents, Kyoung and Melissa Lee, told The Associated Press.

another product of the imbecility of "they want what we want" peacenik "education"

the North "wants" reunification and "Korea is one" --- that means NOTHING for prospects of lasting peace and reunification

the North wanted "reunification" in 1950-53, too, and believed then that "Korea is one"

how does our country continue to produce such idiots (his parents are pitiful for sponsoring this propaganda farce)

Back in the Seventies, I flew into Beijing just after the renewal of diplomatic relations with China. Although not as severe as the satellite photo you attached, Beijing was pretty bleak at night compared to Tokyo and Narita Airport (where our flight originated).

At the time, most of China’s planes were Ilyushins. The national airline was called CAAC (Civil Aviation Administraion of China). However, after a few short flights (Beijing - Shanghai), we started calling it, “Cancel At All Costs” which the local authorities didn’t appreciate.

The photo of that young dumb@$$ standing by the river in the middle of Pyongyang with our Pueblo in the background really hacks me off!

We should have sunk that vessel (with our largest thermonuclear bomb) as soon as we had our crew back. Even now, we should still do it -- and extinguish the one spot of light in NK...

As another measure of communism's "success", look at that image full-size -- and count the downtown Pyongyang "trafffic" on those wide bridges and streets...

yes, and ALL of those propaganda photos/words are disgusting beyond belief

the kid gets a free ride from criticism b/c no one wants to be portrayed as “attacking a 13 yr old CHILD” but that’s just another reason why it is so digusting to allow children to be used in such propaganda campaigns

intelligence and critical thought are supposed to be suspended as soon as a naive ignorant child is thrust into the limelight

the kid is dumber than a rock but so long as he stands for “World Peace” (just like the Sandra Bullock character in “Miss Congeniality”) no one wants to be smeared as the nasty critic of such noble childlike sentiment

alas, such imbecilities cause many unnecessary wars and conquests as peoples are lulled into not defending themselves until it is too late

heck, the original Korean War of 1950-53 was so totally unnecessary, except that the Truman admin., especially Dean Acheson but also his President, proved to be such naive farcical bunglers in the run-up to the North Korean invasion
