What is Media Lab Technology and why is it being taught to 7th and 8th graders.FWIW, some media lab/computer lab technology courses are pretty good. Kids can really develop a lot of expertise, with equipment that is up-to-date, and with a teacher who is serious about the curriculum.
This is the very person you WOULDN'T WANT teaching a course like that, since he's encouraging kids to manipulate things to their own advantage.

Media Lab Technology teaches all the software programs that you need in business these days. I think they also teach typing, graphics programs, web design, computer maintenance. Definitely not useless knowledge in today's industry. (One of my neighbors teaches "Media Lab Tech" to 7th graders. She's a liberal, too.)
But yes, I think they do run the projectors!

It is actually 1/3 of an elective class. If you are in Middle School, you can either take Band or “Wheel”, which is a combo of Art, Music, and Media. Essentially Media is making slideshows, web animation, and photoshop stuff. My sons are in middle school in this district in a different school. Thank God they are in band.
