A Republican civil war is raging, with righter-than-thou conservatives dominating ever more primaries in a fight for the party's soul. And the Democrats hope to benefit.
The latest examples of conservative insurgents' clout came Tuesday at opposite ends of the country. In Florida, political newcomer Rick Scott beat longtime congressman and state Attorney General Bill McCollum for the GOP gubernatorial nomination. And in Alaska, tea party activists and Sarah Palin

Of course the implicit wish is for us to tow the party line and vote for our better in the establishment. I mean, how dare we use our own free will to determine our future. Silly us.
In AZ, the prototypical ‘rat approved RINO charges on.
Rush will be all over this tomorrow.
The libs are sh!tting bricks.
This writer Babbington is either insane, drunk, on drugs, smoking reefer or drinking too much “Obama” Kool-Aid. What a dim bulb this buffoon must be!!! He certainly ain’t living in the real world!!!
...grabbing at straws seems to be the norm for libtards these days, especially the closer we get to November....watch for the lamearse libtard media to run more of these strawman grasps at non-extinction. =.=
Keep on dreamin’ Charlie!!!
“White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said Republicans are hurting their chances this fall “by nominating candidates well outside the mainstream.”
I hope they keep believing this.
Ah yes, civil war. Who knew?
Idiots don’t have a clue.
>> This writer Babbington is either insane, drunk, on drugs, smoking reefer or drinking too much Obama Kool-Aid.
WIth a ‘Rat, it’s not an either/or proposition. :-)
This ploy isn’t transparent, no sir.
In 2008 the democrats has a choice to make between a traditional liberal democrat in Hillary Clinton or a radical leftist in Barrack Obama. They chose to go hard core far left.
With that in mind the left simply has no credibility in being critical of the republicans for going more conservative than they have been in the past.
There are only two outcomes: 1) The true conservative wins, denying the collectivist/progressive demagogues a quisling they can trot out as evidence of “bipartisan support”, or 2) a Democrat wins, whose votes in favor of destroying the Republic and Constitution and in favor of enslaving the productive in order to buy votes from the parasites can not be blamed on some idiot with a (R) after his name.
We win either way.
I get so tired of this notion. Are we to believe that Pelosi, Reid, Feingold, etc. are in the mainstream?
Epic state-controlled media fail depicting Tea Party candidates as bug-eyed right-wing racist Milwaukee’s Best beer guzzling wackos.
Exactly. This is about the third or fourth article I’ve seen today about the “rift” in the GOP.
The new “Journolist” is working overtime.
The vote last night was about the anti-establishment. There’s no civil war in the GOP. The Democrats on the other hand are voting for incumbents because they love big government and want more of it.
Umma, umma, the republicans aren’t running for high country every time their leadership shows up to campaign for them. They may be feeling around to figure out just who’s top dog, and yes, before 2012 there’s going to be a shakedown of somebody, but...
If ever there was a divided party running for high ground, and hiding out from their constituents as well, it’s the democrats.
Regime Media outlet “Ass Press” typical intentional propaganda fabrications.
The liberal idea that Republicans have to “move toward the center” in order to be successful is contradicted by the record of history.
Only the singular example of the Goldwater defeat in 1964 suggests that this might be true, and even then it would have been difficult at best for a moderate Republican to win in that year against LBJ.
The rest of presidential election history shows a very weak record for moderate, “progressive” Republicans. FDR trounced 4 moderates, so did Carter, Obama and Clinton. The only moderate Republicans to win were the war hero Ike and Richard Nixon.
McCain and other RINOS may regain their seats, but they can't last all that much longer and when they're gone, a better, more conservative, more honest, Republican will replace them not some democrat with a lie on his lip and Saudi money on his hip.
Meanwhile in Michigan, democrat officials are being forced to resign over the fake tea party due to identity theft, fraud, forgery and lord knows what else.
The media remains oddly silent.
I see these people all use the same talking points. Why would the Republican Party be falling apart? It stands to win big in November. I suppose this is just one more example of how the “progressives” are out of touch with reality.
AP “reporter” CHARLES BABINGTON is a notorious Regime Media Propagandist. Newsbusters has been all over this serial deceiver for years:
Yeah, sure. The head of the DNC couldn’t even remember the name of their own senate nominee in Alaska.
>> Are we to believe that Pelosi, Reid, Feingold, etc. are in the mainstream?
MEDIA mainstream, maybe.
American mainstream? Not so much.
Democrats faking a tea party! And the media won’t report on it. I guess they’ve given up all pretense and really are a propaganda arm of the White House.
These idiots are wishing.....yawn!
They have a point of sorts, but I`d say its not a civil war as many consider the RINOs of the Republicrat party to be as much the enemy as any other leftist. I mean rats or crats, not much of a difference, especially when The Snowe, Graham, and McLames are factored in.
Palin is terrifying them.
Yep, you nailed it exactly. Which is why the Tea Party movement is so strong ... it is pointless to attempt to salvage the Dems, as they are imploding on their own. Much better and wiser to attempt a reformation of the somewhat more rational party in the Pubs. The Dem party is completely hopeless in the TP's eyes.
L Brooks Patterson is a RINO but I really hope you will take a look at this video. This needs national exposure so spread it around. This is big. The democrats still voted to allow the “Tea party” on the ballot but failed.
BTW Oakland county had some 30,000 fraudulent voter registrations in 08.
If there was a civil war, it was over yesterday. The good guys won.
I had to make sure this was not satire. Now that I see the nut really believes this nonsense I have only one response. Bwahahahahahahahahaha, snort, snort, hehehehehehehe, snicker, snicker, hahahahahahahahahaha, bwahahahahahahaha. This guy is just to funny.
I wouldn’t trade problems with the liberals in this country for anything.
They’re effectively alienating an entire generation.
... Milwaukees Best ...
Uh, you say you got some Milwaukees Best?
Has the AP no shame?
And only becasue of Sarah Palin was McCain even a contender in the 2008 election. So it WAS NOT great enamor with LIberal ideas that got the Dims--and Obama--elected; it was a huge Conservative "shrug"!
I hope they keep believing this.
Yes. Confusion to our enemies, as they used to say over a shot of scotch.
Why not just publish the DNC talking points directly?
They’re far less wordy.
The propagandists can’t keep their message straight.
Last week the MSM meme was that Republicans don’t have “a single, solitary new idea.” Republican ideas have been tested, and they have failed,” Obama said. “They don’t have a single idea that’s different from George Bush’s ideas — not one,” Obama said to applause.
Now explain to me, how is it that the Republican party can be so uniform in their failed ideas from the past and still have a civil war ongoing in the party?
If all the ideas are old and the same, doesnt it logically follow that there is no disagreement within the party?
Or is the MSM finally acknowledging that some in the GOP want to surrender to socialism while the majority wants to preserve America?
I love it! Just last night the spin was the Tea Parties weren’t making any real difference. Now, it’s ‘they are tearing the GOP apart.’
The AP must really be losing money. They obviously aren’t employing editors anymore.
AP: You Wish.
I love it! Just last night the spin was the Tea Parties werent making any real difference. Now, its they are tearing the GOP apart.
...and it’s not even September. What worries me, is that desperate people do desperate things.
