Obama, Congress Cut $ for 176 Abstinence Programs Despite New Study

Washington, DC -- More than 176 abstinence education programs will lose funding for their outreaches to youth and young adults on September 30 because Congress and the Obama Administration canceled all grants going to abstinence-centered programming in their FY2010 budget.

He wants to see his little girls take full advantage of their black heritage. Sleep around and then have abortions on the governmant dime so they won’t be “punished”.

They will just give it to Planned Parenthood so they can teach their version of safe sex.

They’d much rather spend the money to buy kids condoms and pay for abortions. Why is the democratic party so intent on sexualizing children? Bunch of perverts I tell ya.

Why are these programs necessary? Can’t someone say no without the government teaching them how?

Look up “sex positive agenda”.

It’s what the left is all about,
and it’s just one facet of their anti-family agenda.

Actually, cuts sound pretty good to me. Why is the FEDERAL government in the abstinence education business in the first place? All we need do now is eliminate ALL federal education spending. It’s not their job. They have no business doing it.

Young adults are hornier than dogs on Viagra. To think that an abstinence program is going to make any difference is delusional.
This is one of the few times I agree with what's in the budget.

Besides, I don't think it's the governments business. It's up to parents to educate their kids in sexual matters, not our incompetent government.

Also, does it make sense to support both abortion and abstinence? Kind of an oxymoron thing if you ask me.

cutting abstinance programs:

These programs shouldn’t have been started in the first place. We’re giving the FedGov too much of our money to play with.

I agree with you and the other posters who think “abstinence education” is not the business of the Federal government.

Back when 0bama was running, I remember listening to him say specifically that he wanted women to be ‘able to have all the abortions you want.’

Think of all those stem cells.......

Democrat elites will be trolling for body parts.

“I agree with you and the other posters who think “abstinence education” is not the business of the Federal government”

You have put your finger on what should be the main theme of the Republican’s campaigning: the government is doing too many things that are none of its business, and in the process taking too much of our money. And government is also spending huge amounts of our money bailing out individuals and institutions that have behaved irresponsibly.

Statement: "Obama, Congress Cut $ for 176 Abstinence Programs Despite New Study"

Response: The "New" model of governance will be free food, free rent, free games, and free love. The population is almost at that level anyway.

“They will just give it to Planned Parenthood so they can teach their version of safe sex.”

.. a warped and defective ‘sex ed’ that actually encourages promiscuity and keeps planned parenthood in the abortion business

what you dont realize is that Obama admin is not cutting spending at all, they are diverting money from effective abstinence programs into other programs that sexualize youth in the classroom.

“I agree with you and the other posters who think “abstinence education” is not the business of the Federal government.”

Just understand that this money was about 0.1% of the $80 billion spent on education by the Fed Govt, and the Obama administration and Dems are all for spending much more than this on ‘comprehensive’ sex ed.

Here is the reality - what is REALLY going on:
Liberals hate abstinence sex ed, because it encourage moral-based thinking in youth. They make claims it doesnt work and move the funding to their version of sex ed:

http://www.jacksonfreepress.com/index.php/site/comments/sex_ed_advocates_attack_just_wait/

But abstinence DOES work ..

http://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/02/02/abstinence.study/index.html?hpt=Sbin&hpt=T2

What works even better is kids who are not in broken homes and have parents who rear their children in ways that support moral behavior.

No, WOSG, I understand what’s going on. All of these federal education programs need to go away. I favor abstinence education paid for and controlled at the state and local level. If I had to choose between it and the crap the federal government is currently funding, I’d choose the former of course. However, we don’t get to choose, our complaining about the cuts in abstinence education will hardly dissuade the libs, and we won’t be able to address this at all until conservatives take control. If and when we do, we need to get the federal government out of the education business (or at least pare it back substantially).
