I've been sharing a lot of charts recently, but sometimes a picture really does say it all. This one shows why states such as Nevada, California and New York are facing budget deficits.

I want to see Liberal Run States vs. Conservative Run States charts.
I bet NY and Cali *Wish* they had the minimal problems Texas has right now. We have a shortfall, but not like they are having.
If you discourage business it leaves with it’s money and you can pay your own way! LOL
It’s no secret that liberals have destroyed so many formerly great places . . . like NYC, California, DC.
The problem with this is the prosperity masked the payors' attention to exactly what was happening. Their 'governments' got stronger, hungrier and finally more demanding. Meanwhile, leeches expanded their largesse while the taxpayer slept.
Now, when the Federal Government has killed the national economy and the State Government has done its part of the damage, the local governments still MUST BE FED - property taxes, intensified collections from past-due taxes/fees/whatever - increased 'traffic' enforcement....and on and on and on...
All of this in the midst of an awakening populace finally figuring out they aren't getting crap for their taxes are reducing their liabilities, taxes and anything else that will give them disposable income. Yet, GOVERNMENT MUST STILL BE FED.......it is going to get nasty when this debacle finally falls apart. GOVERNMENT WILL NOT GO QUIETLY [INTO THE GOOD NIGHT]
Lack of fiscal responsibility.
Why bother with fiscal responsibility when uncle taxpayer can pick up the tab?
So true, hopefully the public will see the problems and remove them and we can turn these places around.
All together now: S P E N D I N G. SPENDING!!!!
i looked but can't find it, i'll keep looking
I’d be real interested to see how Alaska and Indiana are doing.
