Human trafficking second only to drugs in Mexico

Mario Santos likely never made it to the United States.

The 18-year-old set out 10 years ago from his native El Salvador in search of opportunity and a better way of life. But he had to travel north through Mexico first.

A short while after leaving, he called his parents to tell them he had been beaten and robbed in Mexico, left penniless and without shoes or clothes. It was the last they heard from him.

It's a fate that likely befell 72 people believed to be migrants from Central and South America whose bodies were found this week in a ranch in northern Mexico, just 90 miles from the U.S. border. It's a fate that officials say also befalls thousands of Central and South Americans every year.

"It's brutal," says Peter Hakim, president emeritus of the Inter-American Dialogue, a non-partisan Washington policy institute. "This is very big business. It's very brutal."

TIME is calling this “the massacre that shook Latin America”. I guess the Zetas are going to solve the Other Than Mexican problem all by themselves.

The fact that they were slaughtered when they refused the Zetas offer of recruitment as assassins says something more, however. If the Zetas have to recruit at the point of a gun that means they must be getting desperate.

The fact that they are reduced to criminal activities other than drug smuggling is also telling. What’s next? Counterfeit fireworks? Snuff films? Smuggling CFC’s?

Mejico is a third world sh!thole that is beyond repair.

Its quote unquote leaders are as bumbling incompetent as they are corrupt.

The northernmost forty to fifty miles should be nuked into a glassified no-man’s-land, and thereafter patrolled from the air 24x7. ANYTHING WHATSOEVER found moving in that no-man’s-land should be destroyed immediately.

Any and all mejicans found illegally in this country should be immediately deported, Not to a border town — they’ve been turned to glass — but to (say) Ensenada, Puerto Vallarta, or Monterey. They should be branded on their forehead and microchipped, and if they are EVER found in this country again they should be immediately executed.

Harsh? Sure. But unlike the current sorry state of affairs, my plan would contain the hellhole that is Mejico and protect us from the useless vermin.
