I wish Obama and Pelosi had done the same. We would have saved $1.7T this year, and a whole lot more in the future, not counting the dramatic increase in individual freedom and the fact that the ongoing depression would instead have been a minor economic blip.

Sounds like a job I'd like to have!

I'd 'like' to have any job right now!

The curious thing is that someone had to sign the timecard. So that person will end up being fired as well. And I would imagine that someone in the city HR department will have to explain their contribution.

Now, the interesting thing to ask....are they close to getting a pension?

Millions of other civil serpents have been paid for years without doing any work. The overwhelming majority of them do show up at the office on most days, however.

Have these people NEVER had to show up to sign for their paycheck? Although I haven’t done it in awhile, part of internal audit’s job was to pick one pay period and distribute paychecks / paystubs personally to make sure there were no ghost employees. Auditors aren’t doing their job here.

Congress would definitely do less damage if they ‘d just collect their paycheck and bennies and retirement and stayed home.

One would think in a 12 year span; some bozo would notice the worker didn’t show up.
