Bill O'Reilly said that the Tea Party rally only had 70,000 people. Now that his buddy is holding a rally, will O'Reilly say that only 70,000 show up here, too, or will O'Reilly be forced to correct his statements about the Tea Party rally turnout?

My guestamate is 350K - 450K. The perspective is a problem with the "grid" method of guestamating. Too much for me now, but if anyone can get a sq ft idea of the sides adjacent to the pool area and divide by 9 that should give a better idea of size.

Actually IIRC the media and police usually use 6sq ft per person in a tightly packed crowd.

Not as big a crowd as the Tea Party event (IMO) but still a GREAT turnout for a historic event!

Anyone have knowledge of where Sharpton’s rally is located? There was an earlier thread based on a NYT article that implied Glenn Beck/Al Sharpton both having rallies, they were sharing the turnout (like 50/50...).

I’m curious to know where Sharpton’s rally is in relation to Beck’s and any figures on how many he’s had in attendance. I’d love to see the NYT shot down again...

Regarding "official estimations of crowd" ~ the Park Service Police used to try to do that but people argued over the numbers so they quit doing it.

Each group is responsible for its own claims now.

Is Glenn Beck "official"? If he is ask him!

The big rally that went to Washington last year, ORielly said it was 10,000. I almost choked! When it was pointed out to him that it was well over a million, he refused to recognize it. He still stuck to his 10,000. Even Fox News is disgusting.

I would call it 475-525k easily based on the photos I see there. A lot of people under those trees and depending on what time the shot was taken..if it was taken at 10 am then it isn’t anywhere near what it turned out to be. Some people I know weren’t able to get there til 11:30 because of the congestion and people were still showing up.

Absolutely awesome shot. So glad it was shared. Did watch C-Span. At least we had that much of it. Not sure what it is going to take for the media to wake up. This is such a formidable force, particularly considering the fact that most of us simply could not afford to attend. When will they ever learn? November is coming. Sadly, we are not only battling the press but also Republican senatorial leaders who choose to support RINO’s over candidates like Miller and O’Donnell. People like Glen and Sarah are trying to bring the Country back together and the one at a time is now becoming 500,000 at a time.

I came across a link that estimate only 200-300 attending Sharpie’s racist gathering in a small HS gym..and it was NOT filled. So 2,000-3,000 appears to be waaaay off!
