A second mosque near Ground Zero at 23 Park Place?

While the nation has been focused on a proposed Islamic center near Ground Zero, a mosque has been functioning just four blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks with rumored plans to build even closer to the spot that once housed the World Trade Center.

The mosque, the Masjid Manhattan, recently boasted of plans to construct a "House of Allah" next to the World Trade Center, exclaiming on its website, "Help us raise the flag of 'LA ILLAHA ILLA ALLAH' in downtown Manhattan!"

The Masjid Manhattan has been holding classes at 20 Warren Street, four blocks from Ground Zero. The mosque also holds prayer services several times a day at a cramped location at 384 Broadway, eleven blocks from the former World Trade Center site.

The mosque reportedly has raised about $8.5 million to begin construction of a permanent site after it lost its lease in 2008 at a different building on Warren Street, also about four blocks from Ground Zero.

In May, Fox News.com quoted a source close stating he believed the Masjid Manhattan is considering a five-story building on 23 Park Place, closer to Ground Zero than the 13-story Islamic center the controversial Cordoba Initiative is considering.

I think a fund raising campaign should be organized to build a Christian church near The Kabba in Mecca. Then stand back and watch the fecal material hit the fan. Why not?

The proposal is to build a mosque ON GROUND ZERO ~ this building is part of GROUND ZERO and is the largest of the remaining seriously damaged buildings.

They want to tear it down to complete what Atta didn't quite get done.

The equivalent to building a mosque here is to build a Christian church on top of the Kaabah

I’m curious, can non-Muslims attend services at mosques?

I suppose if you keep letting muslims into the United States, what do you expect them to do? Well, act like muslims, like everywhere else in the world. As to why we ever let them into the U.S. or anywhere in the West, will be a question pondered long after I’m dead (or murdered by them?) The Trojan Horse gift that keeps on giving, muslim immigration to the West.

Ted Kennedy is responsible for all these Muslims being here with the immigration reform he passed in the 1960s, when he pledge it would never change the ethnic make-up of the population. The lying bastard. It’s long past time to end immigration from Muslim countries and depot all those here illegally or who are engaged in seditious activity.

What’s also creepy is that they have apparently been having “services” at 51 Park, site of the Ground Zero mosque, for months now. I doubt that they had permits for it because there’s nobody in the City of New York who has the guts to ask Muslims to abide by the law, even the traffic laws (they come from all over to go to it and spill into the streets, blocking traffic).

Incidentally, Muslims have already used the “traffic blocking technique” very effectively in downtown Paris. They all go to a particular mosque near the Eiffel Tower on Fridays and bring traffic to a halt there by spreading out on the street with their backsides in the air, even though they have no crowd permit, because the cops are too afraid of stirring them up to make them get back on the sidewalks and let traffic pass.

I like what Seville, Spain did. Their liberatard leaders approved a mosque, that the majority of citizens did not want. So the citizens took matters into their own hands. They buried dead pigs and spread pig blood on the land where the mosque was to be built. Then they made sure everyone knew it. The mosque could not be built because the land had been “defiled” by a pig.

All it would have taken was a law strictly enforced that said that persons holding allegience to any form of government which did not/could not uphold the beliefs/foundation of our Nation was not welcomed as residents, not withstanding any dependence on oil.

Someone who wants to do the research needs to look into the Charitable tax laws and how they effect Muslim donations.

Obama claimed he would change the laws so that Muslims could practice their faith. I would like to know HOW and IF he has done that.

Sounds like a way to transfer terror financing.

...Find out what Islam has planned for you:

Oh...no, no, no. Islam needs to take it's head out of it's collective arse....i.e...the Kuran....and have a look at what We have in store for Islam.

Surely, the namesake of the hero of the Battle of Tours couldn't disagree with that.

Officially, the Bummer couldn’t do very much without Congressional Rat support, which is probably getting little cold Rat feet as they feel November from here. Unofficially, the Bummer has been quite creative in bypassing that old fogey rule-of-law stuff. Maybe it will be declared a Smithsonian exhibit or sumfin.

Ture, that is why I like Germany’s law if you get hit by an automobile and were not in the crosswalk it is your fault not the drivers.
