Fascism as Sadism
American Thinker ^ | Aug 29, 2010 | James Lewis

Posted on 08/29/2010 5:13:34 PM PDT by Rashputin

Fascism is not just national socialism as a political ideology. It also involves a mob frenzy in which cruelty is whipped up and celebrated. If you listen to Louis Farrakhan, you can hear that same menacing quality in his voice; just like Chicago's Father Pfleger, who could have stepped right out of the Children's Crusade of 1220.

Sadistic insults and fantasies have also been a big feature of the leftist attack against Sarah Palin and her family, just as it was part of the "high-tech lynch mob" that Clarence Thomas finally cried out against in his Senate hearing for the Supreme Court. In America today, conservatives don't carry out sadistic assaults; the Left does it every day. It is not just a political tactic, but a reflection of who they are as human beings.

Sadism is the enjoyment of cruelty against others. It was a prominent feature of Russia under the Czars, of the Ottoman Empire, and in historical figures like the Roman Emperors Caligula and Nero and the Athenian traitor Alcibiades. Sadism was practiced among warrior peoples like the Plains Indians, where rape and torture of captured enemies was taken for granted. It was not enough to kill the enemy; he and his women and children had to be degraded and physically punished for the entertainment of the victors.

This is a very, very, well thought out piece that I think deserves to be spread far and wide, especially among those "moderates" who decry the "coarseness" of society these days but refuse to see leftists for what they really are.

Is this supposed to be about the Ground Zero Mosque?

Well, it's once you read it you'll see Islam in a different light (if you don't already know what it is).

I, for one, endorse all expressions of hate against ones mortal enemies.

The Mosque is triumphalism at it coursest. The very name of the mosque, Cordoba House, demonstrates its symbolism as a triumph over Islamic enemies.

Texpat in the LONESTAR TIMES on June 4 this year writes:

“Cordoba,” in Islamic symbolic terms, means Islamic rule in the West. It does not mean “coexistence,” unless coexistence is interpreted as referring to Islamic rule.

Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs cites the article (original in Arabic) published by Iraqi-American Khudhayr Taher on 18 May, in which Taher explains the following:

We must note that a hostile and provocative name [Cordoba] has been chosen for this mosque…Choosing the name ‘Cordoba House’ for the mosque to be constructed in New York was not coincidental or random and innocent. It bears within it significance and dreams of expansion and invasion [into the territory] of the other, [while] striving to change his religion and to subjugate him…

Amos: It rubs salt in the wounds of those most deeply injured. It is by any measure sadistic. Legal perhaps, but deeply immoral.

Fascism as sadism! That is an excellent and keen observation.

Leftist tend to be very sadistic. They love to explain away their hate and cruelty as anger at injustice. This is a ruse. Their real motivation and agenda is sadism--cruelty for its own sake. There's nothing just or high minded about these people. They're merely sadistic. I am speaking of Leftists in general--of no one in particular--but such sadism is ubiquitous among Leftists. They all tend to be sadistic.

The GZM is in itself an act of sublime sadism, in keeping with the theme of this essay. It is intended to cause despair and agony in non-Muslims who remember 9/11.

Are you sure your name isn’t a form of sadism, lol! This is another example of liberal fascism/sadism. Obama is in the process of dismantling our way of life and is enjoying every minute of it. Forcing Obamacare on us, taking over businesses, hiking taxes, attempting to stop free speech, imposing new rules and regulations, ruining small businesses and threatening large corporations by fining them, taking them to court, going after some of their leaders, just to show who is boss, namely big gov’t. Crack that whip and make everyone miserable. They use the EPA, FCC, ane other regulatory bodies as various strands of their cat-o-nine tails whip. They are bullies, and sadists, as the elitists watch the little people squirm. They must be stopped.

(Sadism) was a prominent feature of ... the Athenian traitor Alcibiades.

I am somewhat familiar with the life of Alcibiades, and I'm not aware of any such tendency that particularly set him apart from others of his time.

Most human societies have reveled in inflicting the maximum pain and humiliation on their enemies. The examples are far too numerous and depressing to go into.

Execution was apparently not considered enough of a deterrent or punishment. The (comparative) humanity of the execution methods under the Mosaic Law were pretty unique for ancient times.

I entirely agree - really great post, thanks.

Sadism is not only a part, but I believe the very root of the fascist-collective machine. Because sadism is unarguably evil - no matter how the collective supports it, those who indulge in it KNOW they've done evil. As a result, they commit the most profound spiritual crime of all - they damn themselves. And in doing so, they reject God's mercy, abandon belief in their own forgiveness, and enter a howling wilderness so frightening they will turn ANYWHERE for relief.

And towards such a lost soul, the collective opens it's arms... as long as they are loyal and obedient.

And to the collective, loyalty and obedience can only be trusted from broken people. If you aren't broken, you aren't trustworthy. That's the reality of these hideously murderous social machines - nothing less.

You make a good point about their rejecting God's mercy since it's almost mandatory in their ranks to reject even the existence of God or at least his acting in the material, temporal, world. Once God is rejected, it's only a small step to demanding that those the elite selects be worshiped as gods.

It's also not much of a leap from justifying the mass murder of primarily minority infants simply by no longer calling an unborn child human, to justifying the mass murder of the elderly, the handicapped, and your political opponents, simply by no longer referring to them as humans. And for those who haven't noticed, the left ceased to refer to average Americans as a normal humans during the Carter years when articles were written theorizing that conservatives had a genetic defect.
