Whe I was a young kid I worked on some of Ron Paul’s early campaigns. Since then, over the years, I’ve come to learn that RP is pretty much worthless.

Well, there was a time when the Libertarians were making important contributions to the discussion of how to restore, and even advance the cause of liberty. Hayak and Mises and the rest of the Austrian School come immediately to mind.

Unfortunately, in my view, the current crop of American Libertarians, Dr. Paul perhaps chief among them have abandoned any pretense of seriousness, or even of critical thinking in many cases. From foreign policy to drugs to immigration, the Libertarian argument is barely coherent, let alone persuasive. It's too bad, because their contributions to economic policy are critical.

I read what he said. Since he began by distorting the truth, it is hard to take his words seriously.

Well then why don't you libertarians get the hell out of the Republican party. Let me make this perfectly clear. We don't need or want you.

I went away after the early part of the Bush II administration and look what that brought us - Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and President of the United States Barack Obama.

I'm not backing down this time. The US is as sick and tired of neocon big spending as it is from obamunism.

Ron Paul consistently makes the totally mistaken assumption that Americans that chose to be part of the Tea Party take him seriously and/or give a rats patoot what he thinks about anything.

Ron Paul needs to adjust his hearing aid. He can’t tell the difference between VAT & FLAT.

Why should it trouble you that a talk show host cannot be all things to all people? He isn’t running for office.

Whether it be Palin’s support for starting more wars or Beck’s beliefs on paying the private Federal Reserve MORE interest on our money by means of a VAT tax.

Sheer unadulterated nonsense. Who’s the idiot that wrote this screed?

Ron Paul is a wack job....he is right on one thing though..If you want your republic back, and want to revert to strict constitutionalism, then be prepared, because just as many so called conservatives will be just as pissed as the libs....can’t have it both ways...

Awesome attitude, one which should help Republicans win more elections.

*rolls eyes*

Ron Paul is sometimes right.
However, Ron Paul is always an ego-maniac.

Paul has staked out a stand where he can be the official “spokesperson” for “Constitutional Government” and envy gets the best of Ron Paul, when the media give anyone else, besides HIM, any attention on this matter.

I’m with you. Let’s get the Republic back and THEN argue about the details.

They all did. I don't know who this Beck guy and I don't care. TV is for idiots. I am very strongly for Governor Palin the person, except that I think her chance of avoiding becoming one of the pod people in DC once elected is just about zero.

I don’t recall Beck supporting the VAT. His understanding of the money issue is weak, and that troubles me.

Then again, he's not running for anything. No one is perfect (even Ronaldus Magnus made some mistakes), so use his ability to get people motivated to help our cause. Try to educate him and them on the misperceptions about money.

And Sarah, "starting" more wars? That's almost laughable. She's unlikely to go out looking for a fight; but if it comes her way she's the kind to lower the boom and WIN!

Ron Paul is a kook, always has been.

Stopped clock twice a day syndrome personified! Listen where he is right, and ignore the rest.

And Sarah, "starting" more wars? That's almost laughable...

It wasn't too long ago (2008) that she was advocating confronting Russia over the Georgian attempt to invade and subjugate South Ossetia and Abkhazia - i.e. risking war with a nuclear-armed superpower by entering a conflict (on the wrong side) in which the US had no strategic interests.

That, as well as what I perceive to be a softness on the issue of the invasion and colonization of this nation by the turd-world is the reason I have some doubts about supporting her for President in 2012.

Otherwise, she seems to have a fine record as an elected official, both as a mayor and as a governor.

John McCain is right when it comes to national defense and abortion. Using your logic, we should ignore his positions on amnesty and tax cuts. No thanks.

Paul's a certifibable kook and that can't be ignored either.
