Eight people were killed when a gang burned down a bar in the resort city of Cancun early on Tuesday.
At least 10 armed men attacked the Castillo del Mar, a nightclub outside the city's main tourist area, threatening patrons and then lighting the building on fire...

“Mexico is on the slippery slope to being another Somalia.”
Sad thing about that is, Mexico is more dangerous than Somalia. Ciudad Juarez is the most deadly city in the WORLD.
More jouralists killed than anywhere...12 last year.
More beheadings and kidnappings than ANYWHERE.

Fed agents frustrated by judges immigration decisions

In March, Jose Manuel Gonzalez-Sandoval who had committed serious crimes in the United States since 1998 stood before Florence, Ariz., Immigration Judge Bruce Taylor on a deportation hearing. That day the judge canceled his removal proceedings, allowing him to stay in the United States.
Four months later, Sandoval was arrested again on an outstanding warrant but was released. Three days after that release he led police on a 100 mph car chase. Then in August, in response to a 911 call from his family, he shot at Arizona deputies who came to his home. That night, he escaped. He later turned himself into authorities after they began a public manhunt for him.
Sandoval, who had resident status, is only one example of a legal system that lacks working mechanisms for deporting criminal aliens, said Rep. Ted Poe, a Texas Republican and former judge.
The federal government has the responsibility, the moral duty to send these criminal aliens back where they came from after they do their prison time and before they commit more crimes, said Poe, who is co-chair of the Victims Rights Caucus. He said both the Obama and Bush administrations handled the issue ineffectively, hiding facts from the American people and sugar-coating the truth regarding the deportation of criminal aliens.
This month, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency announced that the Obama administration is planning to dismiss thousands of illegal alien deportation cases, possibly 17,000, if the immigrants have a potential path to legal residency or overstayed their visas.
But critics say many illegal aliens with long criminal records composed of what some courts consider to be lesser charges will see their deportation cases dismissed as well. They cite Sandoval as an example.
The system is skewed to release these criminals, said Poe, a former judge. He recalled many times he saw repeat criminal offenders back in his courtroom after issuing detainers, which required the federal government to deport them after they served their U.S. sentences.
The detainers dont work, because we either dont have enough federal agents, the administration doesnt make it a priority and there isnt any accountability when alien criminals are released back into society, Poe said.
ICE, Border Patrol and local law enforcement officers told The Washington Examiner that law enforcement agencies are frustrated by the judicial systems approach to handling immigrants charged with crimes.
I have family who have lived along the border in west Texas for decades. They have never expressed any fear about living there, until now.
“Hmm. Well I went to Mexico with my family for my older brothers wedding this summer. Yes, Mexico may be dangerous but media is being a bit much when t
Hey are covering Mexico.”
Please, tell us....just how bad should it get before the media isn’t being ‘a bit much’???
Our media isn’t even touching the mayhem down there, what’s your point in minimizing it?
mexico is as horrible a neighbor the United States could possibly have. I go out of my way to avoid buying products made there and absolutely refuse to travel there. There are plenty of beautiful places in the USA to visit before going to that hell-hole. Keeping those dollars at home helps our economy as well.
I hate it when that happens. Cranky old mod tonight (with all due respect, of course...)

That is the most amazing modern photo I have ever seen. The Brady Antietam “bloody lane” photos still top the list. These people are obviously used to this sort of sight. Look at the body language; the lady in the red shorts and old man still have a hand on their beverages and the man with sunglasses is chatting up the lady and smiling. I guess they know that the police won’t be there anytime soon and hope they get there ahead of the worst of the insects.
I have driven it countless times. It is about 60 miles. It takes about an hour. You must not have a Tom-Tom. Avenida Bonampak is where the new Malecon was built, by the bull ring.
He's probably just taking a nap.
Would ya like to see some really vivid pics without sheets? Lemme know.
Thanks, but one picture is plenty... How long until they come here to behead the people Americans won’t behead?
Not enough to make me go to Mexico...I don't even want to go the the TX valley.

Dragnet old FRiend, the first time I saw that photo it was identified as an older man that keeled over from a heart attack while ordering a taco. All your other photo’s, gruesome as they are, are labeled correctly, but I think that one has been misidentified.
Have you ever actually driven it yourself? Even once? If not, would you mind giving me the benefit of the doubt because I have, regularly, since the late 1980s? Or not?
Enough of that here on FR. Ha!!
I've seen enough blood and guts for a couple lifetimes....So, no I will pass.
Thanks-
No,I haven't driven it, only went to Cancun and Cozumel in the mid '80's. No plans on going back. You refered to Tom Tom, I got 42 miles off of their website. Maybe you're confusing miles with kilometers:
Conversion
42 miles = 67.592448 OR 67 9257/15625 km
